I think there may be some normalization effect, where people would rather fit in than stand out. If most of your peers are on the chubby side, even if you get kudos for being thin, a lot of people would also be more comfortable being plump, I think.

If I were a sailboat, the wind would always be blowing towards FatLand. I can slowly sail into the wind, with a lot of work. But if I go with the wind I fly with exhilerating speed in that direction.

When our cat goes to settle down on my lap, and is frustrated because there is not as much lap left as she would like.
And everything Zag said

Have variety....as you get full, you may find you get tired of particular foods faster than normal. Also you can probably fit in some liquid when you can not face another bite, plus it helps to wash stuff down, so have some choice of drinks too.
And of course, most of all relax, have fun, and enjoy!

My family specializes in not saying things......but it is amazing how much can be communicated by what is not said. So that I probably weigh almost as much as my brother and sister combined has resulted in many things not being said lol

Yes, since childhood here too. I can recall having deep contemplation about "Jack Spratt" (the nursery rhyme)as a pre-schooler, deciding that the one thing I would not bug a particularly annoying girl about was that she was husky, and then when I could read on my own I stumbled upon the kid's book "the pumpkin giant" (google it....bet you'll like it) and that just made it totally clear to me. Unlike you, I could not totally resist having some chub, however. (Although I did a ton of sports as a kid and am still fairly active)

For what it is worth, what your husband is saying is pretty much what I, as an FA say to my wife to let her know that her size is all good to me, without pressuring her to gain.
I'm not saying that is the only explanation, but I guess that your instinct that it could be a valid one seems spot on to me.
And nothing wrong with posting something to help yourself work through your thoughts.
Good luck sorting through things!

Well, you have a profile, pics, and a board post, so I think you have figured out the mechanics of most of site just fine. Everything else is really just communicating with people (on the boards, in the shoutbox over on the side, by leaving comments on their pics or stories, or in the chat room).
Just dive in and you should be fine

PS: lucky hubby!
