I fight with the urge to gain constantly - But it really is just intrinsically part of me. I sat reading this thread wanting to perhaps spell out why it is that it's such a part of me, but can't...

Has anybody ever gained weight and found there were rings (class rings, etc) that no longer fit on your fingers? I think that's kinda happening to me now and while the thought I'm getting fatter is wonderful the thought of having to relegate this expensive class ring to the drawer is not so sexy.
Go talk to a good jeweler. They can probably stretch the band, to let it fit for longer. If you gain a lot, they can cut it and put a bridge in (my mom had to have that done for her rings due to arthritis swelling her knuckles)

I've never been on ADD meds, nor for that matter had trouble putting on weight, but a couple of thoughts all the same:
- Someone else mentioned working out. Recall that muscle will help you look less twiggy, and when you do gain some fat will probably help you look more even in where you have some flesh (smoother curves).
- Think of it as a diet--just a gaining diet, not a reducing diet. So all those things that people talk about for reducing diets, like how it starts when you are shopping for food, plan out your meals and snacks, read nutrition labels, even keep a food diary, can apply just as well to you. Yes, that would turn it into work, which kind of sucks when so many people gain easily, but if you really want it, maybe the effort now for the curves later would be worth it?
- Maybe give yourself some interim incentives, like buy a dress or jeans that you really like that is currently one size big?
- If you are going to keep the weight on, you need long term changes to your lifestyle, most likely, not just short term extra-stuffing. So think about things like can you regularly eat more breakfast or get a muffin on the way to work on top of what you already eat, could you add a bedtime snack to your routine, etc.
Do remember to be healthy about it, and have fun!

I found that when I really stuffed, it often made for a rough night of sleep. Mostly just from the difficulty in finding a sleeping position that didn't bother my over-stuffed stomach, but some from a bit of stomach discomfort, and also more apt to have to get up to go to the washroom.
On a more serious note, depending on what you are eating, you are apt to give yourself a real blood sugar spike, and possibly a blood pressure spike too (from the salt). Neither of those are so good for your system if you do it repeatedly. You can avoid that somewhat by trying to eat low sodium, and really limiting sugar and simple carbs while including plenty of fibre....but that is a lot less fun than downing a cheesecake and a bag of chips :-/

In your other post, nine months ago, you were asking much the same thing....you haven't just asked him yet????

I'd suggest asking, you can always be a little indirect...."Do you think I've gotten too big?" (and if he says "no" then follow it up with "I've ended up gaining ever since we started dating, what if I gain another twenty or thirty pounds, would you be upset?"

, or really pig out one night, then comment on how tight your stomach is, guide his hand to it to feel, then ask him to rub it, and I bet you could tell how he liked the situation.
Good luck!

Absolutely they do. The kicker is that they get a little fatter all the way around. So those ‘wide-width’ shoes are kind of mis-leading, it is not that the foot gets a lot wider, it is that its circumference overall is bigger.
Even a fairly modest change can be noticeable in the right footwear. My old downhill ski boots were so tight that my feet would go numb over a few hours in them, when I was at my heaviest. Fifteen pounds lighter and they are not a problem.
Another factor, however, is that the fatter someone is, the more apt they seem to be to get swollen feet after they’ve been upright for a long time. I don’t know why this is, but anecdotally it seems to be the case. The swelling can cause a more dramatic effect.

I get turned on by a fair amount of weight gain and fat-stereotype things, but probably my biggest one is deliberately going a bit too far. Like knowing one is really full and then choosing to eat that extra dessert, leaving the eater ridiculously full. Or deciding that one is as fat as is really practical....and then deciding to gain a bit more anyway. Basically anything putting eating/fat/gaining above common sense or normal standards.
To be clear, being sensible is generally a good way to live your life, I wouldn't really want a life defined by constant excess beyond sensible levels. But as fantasy? Very hot!

There is some great advice in this thread already--trust the people here to know!
In general, the easiest way to consume a lot of cheap calories is with 'starches' (i.e. grain products, potatoes, rice...). They may not be very exciting on their own, but with a bit of something else to give more flavor can be a lot more interesting. So in a peanut butter sandwich, the peanut butter may provide some fat and most of the flavor, but the bread provides a lot of the calories. Baked potatoes with butter (or margerine if butter is too expensive) and a bit of some extra flavor (I like a chile-garlic sauce), work....and so on.

Sometimes when you lose a bit of weight you can end up looking chubbier..I think it loosens the skin, so that fat will pool lower on your belly, making your lower belly bigger and softer, but you'll be a bit thinner further up.

Hey VanillaTea, I hope you and your boyfriend have a lot of fun with this!
I don't think there is any sure fire way to make your body gain fat in one area or another. There are some theories floating around, but I've never really seen evidence that any of them work reliably. It seems to mostly come down to just how your body is, with some variables due to age, life events, and maybe hormone levels.
But if you can't really make your belly get most of the fat, you can still have fat belly play. Like when you are getting together drink a lot of water (or other liquid) to really fill out your belly, and you can both enjoy how big and round it is. Or put on some too tight pants so that you are bulging out over the waistband.
Incidentally, the belly tends to be the least healthy area to carry fat, so what your body is doing is not all bad....
Good luck with finding ways for both of you to get your kicks!
