As for the BS in the second paragraph, I won't be as polite as Eve - I will simply say f*ck the f*ck off telling me to lose weight on a fat fantasy site.

It is quite depressing that even here there are people who seem to regard a fat body as a wrong body or failed body. I suppose that's just how deeply ingrained this stuff is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this last bit implies that your SO doesn't know about the kind of needs you've outlined here. If so, might that be part of the problem?

As this site's resident dinosaur hunter slash superhero, I come across a lot of single ladies looking for a boyfriend. Sadly enough, they all seem to be looking purely to get fattened and casual, meaningless sex. There truly is no place on this site for guys looking for a meaningful relation. ;_;

I've never heard so much bullsh*t in all my life. just sayin'.

One wonders if it was satirical or something...

Feeder: a love story

It'd be interesting to get hold of the script, though from a cursory google search I'm guessing it's neither something they plan on performing again nor on offering up performance rights for other groups to explore it.

Doctor who 50th anniversary

Since we're in Dr. Who mode here - man its good to immerse in British TV nostalgia being remote as I am in USA. But yes, I know this is going to show my age - but which Dr. can any anyone relate to as being their first real experience with Dr. Who....I don't mean from repeats but actually out of the box on the air material.

For me, I can just about remember Patrick Troughton's regeneration into Jon Pertwee. Tom Baker was who I grew up with and have best memories of, then of course Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy.

That was when the BBC officially cancelled the series. Although Peter McGann was able to revive Dr. Who in the film version, to me it was pretty good but never really the same. I've not been able to see the more recent actors in the revival through I think is it Big Finish(?) that I have seen referred to.

Whether or not a new official Dr. Who reunion will take place with the remaining actors who played the character, I don't know. In fact, was it not in the 5 doctors (call me out if I'm wrong) that William Hartnell had already passed away and was portrayed albeit very well by another actor (don't know the name) trapped in some time cage(?)

Patrick Troughton and relatively recently Jon Pertwee left our fold to that time lord dimension in the sky somewhere. Tom Baker is 79 now so there is no way he could play an active roll as one of the previous doctors, but I am sure if he was interested he could have a more less laborious roll if invited to do so. Peter Davison is still in his early 60's and Sylvester McCoy just turned 70 so could still be possibly considered for suitable roles.

I'm going to show my age here, though in a different way. Being born only a few years before the original show was cancelled, my first on the air experience was probably the Paul McGann film, though I was a fan of the show well before then, originally via the Peter Cushing films, then onto the show proper via tapes from the local library.

William Hartnell's role was portrayed by a different actor (I think his name was Richard Hurndall) for The Five Doctors as Hartnell had died, though the time cage thing was an earlier reunion (the three doctors) where he was still alive but too ill to be involved in the main filming.

I've probably geeked out over Big Finish here before, but never explained what it is I was raving about! They're a company that produces (among other things) an ongoing line in audio adventures as CDs and downloads using surviving actors from the old series + Paul McGann. They've been going since about 1999, I think they're very good, and some of their people now also work on the TV series.

I should probably stop now smiley

When it's something like, say you're not allowed on a tanning bed because you're too heavy for it, that's not discrimination. That's on you and your options are to deal with it or lose the weight.

Thing is, in that example, is there anything in particular about the tanning process that means that beds cannot be built with higher weight/size tolerances? Or is it because 'people are THIS size, and if you are not this size, you do not count'? A more pertinent example would be MRI scanners. There have been instances where patients who cannot fit into an MRI scanner at a hospital have had to use ones designed for animals at vets or zoos. Not only can this be humiliating, it highlights the fact that MRIs do not need to be designed in such a way that they exclude fat bodies (and I doubt that to design them otherwise would result in some sort of reverse situation where thin people are excluded from using them). To design them, along with much of our society, to purposefully exclude 'wrong' body types is far more of a choice than being fat is.
