Well that's a pity.

I've been visiting this site for eons, and even spent some money here not long ago. This redesign is so bad, I think I might stop visiting. So much of what made FF cool was just forgotten. Listen to the feedback of your members and just go back. Don't want to be so vocal and critical about it but as a business owner myself I thought you might like to know why one guy won't be upgrading again.

Going back to the old website is not an option, because this is a complete ground up re-write of the website that's taking it from spaghetti code to code that can be easily maintained and improved. The only way is forwards.

Please state below what it is in particular that you don't like about the new website and I'll try my best to improve things over the coming weeks and months.

A few issues that ive noticed so far

Has anyone else noticed that they lowered the picture viewing limit down to 30 per day?

This is a definitely step down from what it used to be, which I could never figure out, because it seemed to be different all the time.

What's up with this move though? The new (and not ready) version of the site is nearly a downgrade already, and then you hit non-subscribers with this limit?

These are either huge mistakes, or some sort "beginning of the end" sort of scenario.

The pic viewing limit for non-upgraded members has always been 30 per day. That's not changed in the move to the new website.

Chat

It seems that whenever I log in using another members account in order to investigate the problem, it logs me into chat correctly. Afterwards users have told me that the problem is fixed.

This makes me think that the problem might be related to cookies or caching. Try clearing out the cookies and cache on your browser and see if this makes a difference.

Mobile chat

Yes there still seems to be some problems. I can enter mobile chat myself, but the rooms are empty. I've disabled the link again while I investigate further.

A few issues that ive noticed so far

Website Owner, am I correct in assuming the shouts are being made a bit more difficult to use so that members will be more likely to upgrade to a premium membership for unlimited messages? I noticed you mention that the profile comments sections were deleted for this very reason. Just wondering if that's a big reason for the Shouts as well?

The issue with shouts was different to profile comments. It's more a case that it doesn't fit in with the new layout, also that it's a popular feature so needed a page of it's own.

I'm not keen on adding a box at the top of the page with the latest shouts because it would push all the other content further down the page. This would be inconvenient for people who don't use the shouts, since not everybody does.

I'm thinking perhaps some kind of notification of when a new shout has been posted might be better, a bit like messages and comments. This would save you having to check the shout page every few minutes to see if there's anything new.

Fantasy feeder version 2

3. when searching through pics, and say youve gone onto page 3, and checking a posters pics... when you press back and expect get back to page 3... youre brought straight back to page 1 instead everytime.

This is because of the way the pages now work. When you page through pics, only the images are refreshed (not the whole page). this speeds things up because there's less data to send back to your browser. However it means that effectively you're on the same page even if you've clicked through several pages of images. So when you click the browser back button it goes to the previous full page. I'll try and get a fix for this, in the meantime try using the breadcrumb or pager instead of the back button.

Fantasy feeder version 2

There's lots of bugs still to be fixed but I expected this given the complexity of the site. Please bear with us while we work through these. For people using tablets and phones it would help if you could post some screenshots explaining why you find the new layout difficult to navigate. It seems that it's not all users having problems so it could be particular devices,

Menus are broken on mobile

It's honestly not something I will 'Get used to' becauee plain and simple it just isn't functional.

I'm getting mixed feedback from mobile users - some love the new layout and others don't.

What type of mobile device are you using and which browser? Also what in particular don't you like about the layout? What makes it difficult to use?

A few issues that ive noticed so far

the idea of having shouts on a seperate page simply doesnt work. shouts are meant to be able to be seen at all times, as in shouting out at someone, or to put it another way, calling out across a room to someone. having them on a seperate page defeats the object of having them.

I get where you're coming from on this. I thought quite hard about this one because having shouts in the side column didn't fit with the new mobile friendly layout and it was quite a performance hit to have the shout box showing on every page. It's also a very popular feature so I wanted to increase it's profile by giving it it's own page.

I have thought of introducing some kind of notification when a new shout has been posted so that you don't have to keep refreshing the page.

The website itself is not interested in owning users uploaded content, in fact the opposite, we consider that users own and are responsible for their own content at all times.

As Saphiel Sir states, the idea behind the copyright symbol is purely to try and show that content uploaded here is copyright protected and not in the public domain. All copyright still belongs to the owners, we just added the symbol to try and help on their behalf.

Bearing this in mind I've now changed the text to © 2015 (removing the 'FF&apossmiley.
