smiley If anybody been fan of Mr kings then this question was a no brainer as the book series references a lot Mr kings books. So here are two what came to my mind Hearts in Atlantis and Bag of Bones and just for fun here other two Black House and Cujo. smiley

I actually meant external to Stephen King's body of work. Such as there is an oblique reference to Harry Potter in the book Wolves of the Calla, and in Wind Through The Keyhole there is a reference to the King Arthur legends and to the Chronicles of Narnia.

Four reasons for the Crusades.

To get back the land taken by the Muslims after a few centuries of being invaded by the Muslims.
To free Jerusalem taken by the Muslims
To help Constantinople threatened by the Muslims.
To get their own back on the Muslims.

New question.

How about something relevant to this site's nature.

To whom goes the honor of having the largest waistline in history?

As fans of the Beatle's will know, the song Hey Jude is written about John Lennon's son. But on this track Paul McCartney sings lead vocal. Why is this?

Sigh.

Answer: John Lennon thought it sounded better sung by Paul McCartney.

Alright. The Dark Tower series by Stephen King unifies much of his works, having tie ins from several of his popular novels including IT, 'Salem's Lot, and the Stand. But this series also contains several other literary references. Name two.

Eating challenge ideas?

I have heard of it, but I'm sure in some places it's impossible.

True, I've never been asked to leave a buffet. But I have seen some resigned looks on worker's faces when I walk in. My father and a few of my uncles have been thrown out of buffets before (but this may have had more to do with drinking than eating).

Joining ff again

I have left the site a few times in the past, though I've never deleted my account. The most recent hiatus I took from FF felt a little forced because I couldn't use the site due to poor internet speed. But previously I've left out of boredom.

I always eventually return, out of curiosity and a need for acceptance though.

Consumerism and feederism?

It's possible but I think it'll probably get worse before it gets better. Which is to say, as society gets fatter there will probably be an increased amount of fat shaming and size discrimination until it reaches a tipping point. That point being when everyone is so overweight that fat shaming will have no effect and therefore no logical application in society.

But honestly, even my paradigm doesn't really work. Because as fat shaming and size discrimination increase the diet industry tries ever bolder methods to get people exercising and losing weight. Weight loss drugs will become increasingly prevalent and WLS will become more common too. It's just hard to say which side of the scenario will reach the tipping point first. Hatred or Apathy. (I needn't say what would happen if Hatred reaches its tipping point first, history is rather clear on that fact...)

The floor test

Three books.

Stephen King's The Dark Tower (Final book in the series of the same name)

Stephen King and Peter Straub's Black House

And Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.

All thick tomes, altogether I'm 6 inches away from my belly resting slightly on the floor while on hands and knees.

Painful songs

Bother-Stone Sour. This song wrecked my psyche during the last few months of my studies at ODU.

I Don't Care-Apocalyptica. I guess it's kind of an angry song. But it still depressed me pretty good. Same basic time period as Bother was messing with my brain.

Weight gain powder

When using weight gain powders to put on fat you'll want to stay away from protein based powders. So basically anything with the word "Whey" in the product name.

Instead you'll want to use carb based powders. I personally have never used powder supplements, but if I did I'd put it in the most fattening shake I can make. (When I do make what I like to call my "fatty shakes", I usually use heavy cream, some whole milk *so it doesn't get too thick*, ice cream *flavor is unimportant*, peanut butter and/or nutella, I will also sometimes add some pudding mix to it.)
