Stuffing yourself at a buffet alone

With no better way to put it, I have no friends to eat with.
And if it wasn't for buffets I'd go broke, so I've eaten alone at them dozens of times.

It's no big deal, there are usually one or two other people eating alone during lunch or maybe even dinner. They typically only have a couple of plates before leaving. I've only been to a couple of places where I got weird looks so I don't go to those anymore. Sometimes the staff will be really nice (because they get a kick out of my appetite) but you also get the places where the person waiting your table will ignore you because they're too busy dealing with the groups of people (bigger tips).

Food limit is lower than your actual capacity

Does anyone else have this issue? I hit a wall around 7 or 8 plates, after that the taste of food is disgusting and each swallow will give me a "puke" feeling.

Yet soon after I can drink 3 or so liters of water with little difficulty. I can tell the difference between having a truly full capacity and just being sick of food because my stomach will be painfully stretched after drinking.

Have any of you came up with techniques to get over this mental block?

Accidentally go too far

I've barfed up a meal in a bathroom twice. It feels bad, I hate wasting the food like that.

But at least it taught me the difference between "I'm queasy" and "If I eat anything else it's going to be coming back up"

What is your favorite restaurant for stuffing yourself?

Chinese buffets during the busy hours when the food is fresh
Lot of variety and it tastes decent

I like pizza buffets too but the taste of pizza starts getting old after a couple of dozen slices. Most of Golden Corral's stuff is bland and their selection isn't really as good as you'd think.

Korean fascination w/ binging

Women are already making thousands of dollars from merely recording themselves play video games. Eating and recording it isn't a huge stretch from there.

Although the language barrier might make it more boring for viewers.
