Hi, at the moment we are not planning to expand the block feature to the forums, it is not currently on our work list for this year. However, that’s not to say we won’t implement it in the future.

I will raise it again with Hiccupx for consideration, and I do appreciate that, as someone who mainly uses the forums, this feature would especially benefit you and improve your experience on the site.

I’m sorry to hear that you were scammed twice. However, there are real and genuine people on the site.

Unfortunately, you are more likely to be contacted by fake scammer female accounts because they try to contact as many people as possible before we notice and ban them.

Real users usually will not try to get you off the site straight away, and they will not ask you for money or for gifts immediately.

I would advise you to use the chat room and take your time getting to know people.

I’ve spoken with Hiccupx about this, and I believe we’ll be implementing an option for content owners to tag or mark content as AI generated.

In the pictures section AI content already has its own category. However, the stories section works slightly differently, so using a tag system would make more sense.

This will, of course, rely on uploaders being honest about their use of AI. However, having content clearly marked will allow readers to filter AI content either in or out, depending on their preferences.

Hi folks, sorry to hear you’re having issues uploading video files. I tested this on both my laptop and phone this morning and was able to successfully upload an MP4 video without any problems.

That said, I’ve flagged it with Hiccupx because with both of you experiencing the same issue, it doesn’t seem like a one off. I’m not sure yet why it’s not working for you specifically, but hopefully we’ll get to the bottom of it soon!

Yes you are correct in that anyone with a existing subscription for all premium content will be able to view your premium story content.

How you earn:
You earn commission whenever a member upgrades after engaging with your content. Whether they subscribe just to your stories only (your dedicated author tier) or go for the full site upgrade.

The author only tier is great as it offers a lower price for readers who love your writing specifically and only want to access your content and you set the price for this.

Full site upgrade tiers pay you in the same way but you get more commission as these upgrades are often more expensive than the author only subscriptions even though that member can then read anyone's content. So you're paid for being the author who "closed the deal."


Recurring income:

Once a reader upgrades through your story, you continue earning from their subscription for as long as they are subscribed. One great story can pay you for months or years as many of our authors have already experienced. It's not a one off payment for an individual story, although we are thinking of opening up the FF Store for authors to upload individual stories but this is something we are currently mulling over as it would require quite a bit of work.

Commission / Engagement
There is no cap on commission, so you can earn as much as you like and we pay out every month regardless of what you earned. Authors with larger back catalogues tend to compound their earnings because every new reader has more of your work to discover.

Existing premium members reading your stories still benefit you indirectly through engagement, likes, and visibility pushing your work higher in recommendations, which drives more new reader conversions.

When becoming an earner, we still recommend posting free content. Having available free story content tends to convert far better than putting everything behind the paywall. Readers who fall in love with your writing and style are the ones most likely to upgrade specifically for you.

The value we offer to members by giving them access to a 'content library' with hundreds or premium stories
is the real incentive for upgrades. It offers more value than just upgrading for a single author or story. Most of our upgrades are for the Fantasy package, so this means all our authors benefit.

We’ve just rolled out a feature that both authors and readers should find really useful - Finished Stories.

For authors:
You can now mark your story as finished/complete when publishing. No more readers wondering if there’s more to come and your work gets the clear “complete” status it deserves.

To mark an existing story as complete, just quickly unpublish and republish and ticking the 'Finished Store' tick box before republishing. It’ll briefly disappear from view, but you won’t lose any views, likes, or comments so it's totally safe.

For readers:
You can now filter for finished stories using the “Advanced Search” options on the story page and select the tick box for 'Finished'. That means no more wondering if a story will be completed... If you prefer completed stories you can simply dive in and enjoy it all the way through to the end!

Just a quick heads up that there is currently a bug affecting the story section.

At the moment, uploading new chapters is causing an issue. You can add one chapter to a new or existing story, but attempting to add another may overwrite the most recently uploaded chapter. If you try to delete the overwritten chapter, you may also see an error message saying “chapter not found.”

We’re aware of the issue and have been actively working on it since yesterday, and will continue to do so until it’s resolved. This is a high priority for us.

In the meantime, please make sure to keep a copy of any new chapters and avoid writing directly on the site. Most of you already copy and paste your chapters, which is great, but there is currently a risk of text being lost if you don’t.

Hi,

I’ve tested the video upload feature and the upload itself is working correctly. However, the progress bar isn’t displaying properly. It jumps straight to 100% instead of gradually updating to show progress.

If you stay on the page, the video does process as expected and will take you to the thumbnail page. So the issue appears to be the progress bar display.

I’ll have Hiccupx take a look into this tomorrow.
