For some reason they seem to be scaling up for me from their normal 19x20 to 500x526, which means that they're frigging huge.
I haven't altered any of my browser settings, none of the avatars or other icons are doing this- it's just the smileys, and just within the posts.
I'd guess that it has to do with the scaling limit set in the posts? Intended on shrinking larger images down to 500 pixels wide, and inadvertently scaling smaller images up.

They did away with the LGBTQ sub-forum, and there's a lot more folks here under that umbrella than there are over 50 years of age. I'd say chances are less than slim.
