The 'concern' angle in the argument is to pre-empt criticism: after all, how could you be angry me, I'm being so *nice*, I'm just *concerned* for you.

And I really don't buy the 'obesity timebomb' in nhs expenditure, particularly given that basically the main treatment for any ailment a fat person has is 'loose weight'

I've noticed that the word 'glorifying' now only seems to appear when unapproved of people want to be treated and act as if they're...y'know, *real* people.

Fawkesy: the 'health' argument irks me on so many levels. It is used to try and hide old-fashioned bigotry beneath a veil of feigned concern.
