As they say in fashion

chapter 3

It had been a week since Noah's party and he'd been working non-stop on his line, men's wear. "Let's go out," Noah pleaded. "I'm dying in here!" Jasper looked at him and noticed he was wearing his glasses. He only wore them when sewing and Jasper couldn't help but laugh at the black, thick rounded frames. "What?"

"Nice glasses. You look like such a loser." Noah quickly pulled off the glasses and felt his ears flame bright red.

"They are pretty, uh, bad." He smiled to show he was okay, but whenever Jasper did that he felt terrible. He thought his glasses were nice. The frames had belonged to his father in the 80s.

"But you look great in them." He had done it again and he knew it. "Let's go see a movie."

"Okay." Noah beamed at him. They both went to get ready. Noah slid into his jeans and button up with ease.

Jasper, however, had a more difficult time. He pulled on his Meadows jeans and felt greatly uncomfortable. They had always fit before. They never pinched him in the side, or squeezed his ass so tightly. The button wouldn't close either and he suddenly felt fat and unattractive.

He hadn't exercised in a month and he didn't know it would show so quickly. He pulled on a shirt and caught a look of himself in the mirror. He was fat.

His belly was only accented, not hidden, by the shirt. His love handles poured over his pants and his ass was huge. His thighs were almost touching and he saw how full and round his face was becoming. Why hadn't Noah said anything? Did he really not care like he said? Was he okay with a little extra weight?

"Noah," Jasper called, stifling a meltdown.

"Yes?" Noah called as he hurried into the bedroom from his studio.

"Look at me." Noah looked and saw what Jasper was freaking out about.

"Did you think I wouldn't notice?"

"I knew you would and I'm sorry."

"For what?" he asked. "Wearing the clothes I made you?"

"No, this is what you made? They are wonderful, but I'm--fat."

"That's just model talk."

"Noah, look at me. Preston is right. I'm a fat nobody."

"Jasper you've been modeling since you were a baby. I doubt you're nobody." Noah sighed sympathetically. "You look amazing." Noah hugged him and felt his softness. "And you're somebody to me."

"But I'm getting so fat," Jasper said, trying to motivate himself to maybe cut back on the calories. "You'll upgrade."

"Yep," Noah said. Jasper's face was immediately plastered in disbelief. He never saw Noah as the shallow type. Noah hugged him again, laughing at the worry that was on Jasper's face. "I meant your wardrobe. I can always make you bigger clothes." He hugged tighter. He hoped he'd just say all right and they could just enjoy his expanding body.

"Are you sure Noah?"

"Yeah, you don't have to worry about it."

"Well, let's go."

They saw a movie about a man who was in love with his teacher and went crazy trying to be with her. All in all, a pretty terrible movie. But they weren't even watching the movie. They made out during the whole thing.

Afterwards they went out to dinner and Jasper ate something of everything from the dessert menu. He was so full and all Noah could do was smile.

Another week passed and Jasper was up to 230 pounds. It scared him to think what would happen once people saw him again, but it wasn't as if he hadn't been out.

Noah's line would be having its show next weekend and everyone was going to be there. The worst part was that he knew he had gotten so fat without trying to stop the problem. It seemed wrong and like people would know. He didn't know what was worse, people knowing he essentially got fat on purpose, or them thinking that he was a fat "has been."
