The separation

chapter 6

Two hours later, Max was stirring in the living room and came through rubbing his eyes. 'How long was I asleep for?' he asked groggily.

'Only an hour or so,' Kaley explained, finally putting the last of her cleaning products away and switching off the light in the kitchen. She had decided to get ahead for the next day in the restaurant by making some pastries.

'Hold up!' Max laughed. 'What happened to those cheesecakes?'

'Oh, sorry!' Kaley laughed. 'I just assumed you wouldn't want to eat them this late.'

'No, I promised I would,' he smiled, switching the light back on.

'See what I mean...' Kaley smiled. 'You tell me you're not a perfect man!' she went on, opening the fridge and getting the four cheesecakes out. 'Now I'm not going to tell you the ingredients. I want you to guess. Then tell me which one you like the best.'

It was always a serious business and Max sat himself down at the table, fork in hand, picking at all of them. He groaned with delight at each one and then correctly guessed the flavours of each. 'I like these two the best though!' he delighted, taking massive forkfuls now and stuffing it in like it was nectar.

'Great! I somehow thought you would like those two the best.'

'You know me so well!' grinned Max as he was half way through each of his favourites. Before he knew what he had done, both of them had gone. 'Sorry,' he said, a little red faced. 'I got a bit carried away.'

'No, they're all for you. Although it does mean you'll have to suffer the two you didn't like as much for breakfast tomorrow,' laughed Kaley.

'All of your cooking is delicious!' smiled Max. 'I'd eat anything you made. You know that. I just end up eating far too much of it,' he boasted, leaning back and patting his even larger stomach.

Kaley stared at his stomach longingly and didn't look away as she spoke next. 'I think that was when I was sure I wanted to ditch engineering for cookery. Do you remember that time you came round and Hannah was hungover. We ended up baking that massive cake in the kitchen?' Max laughed, remembering. 'You went on and on about how great it was and ate the whole thing before Hannah even resurfaced!'

Max laughed. 'Yeah, I guess I always have been a bit of a glutton! I didn't know that was the day you decided to quit engineering though.'

'You always inspired me to follow my dreams!' Kaley said proudly, patting her friend on the back appreciatively.

'Hannah always used to say that was the day you...' Max blundered on clumsily, only just stopping himself. Those six beers probably had more of an effect than he thought.

'Oh, let me guess!' Kaley marched on, refusing to be embarrassed by what Hannah had to say about her. 'She probably said that was the day I fell in love with you, right? What a bitch.' Max was silent and Kaley knew she had hit the nail on the head. 'But yeah, she was probably right. That's why I'm hopelessly single probably. I'm trying to find someone like you. An available version!' she laughed, hoping it would dispel the awkwardness.

'I'm not as perfect as you think I am,' mumbled Max, looking down.

Kaley scoffed. 'You tell me one thing that isn't perfect about you?'

'Well, it was my fault things ended with Hannah. I told her something about myself that I shouldn't.' Kaley looked thoughtfully at Max. She could tell Max was wanting to share something big with her. 'That day, making the cake was a day I realised something as well. I've always loved food, but it runs a little deeper for me.' He looked around awkwardly, egging himself on to complete what he wanted to say. 'I imagined myself as a big, heavy guy when I got older. You know, big...heavy...fat. You were so delighted when I ate all of your cake that day. It just, stirred up all of those feeling and I really wanted it. I wanted to grow heavier. My belly. I don't know, it just does something to me!' He caught Kaley's eyes, smiled despite being a little embarrassed and then immediately looked away again. 'When I put on a bit of weight after I got married, I tried to tell Hannah about it, but she just thought...' he sighed and shook his head. 'Well, I'm sure you can imagine what she thought...'

Kaley felt for Max so deeply. 'And then you came here and I stupidly put you on a diet!' she laughed. Max looked up at her, surprised. That was clearly not the response he was expecting. 'Hannah just clearly didn't love you for who you are then, did she?'

Max placed his hand over Kaley's, that lay on the table. 'Are you saying you do?'

Kaley smiled, picked up the fork from the table and handed it to Max. 'Do you really have to ask?' she said plainly.

Max took the fork and started eating the cheesecakes, grinning and looking at Kaley smiling at him between each mouthful. After he had finished Kaley marvelled at him. 'You just ate four cheesecakes!'

'Are you proud?' asked Max, rubbing his bloated stomach, looking back up at Kaley to see if she was looking at the size of his belly too.

'I'm so proud!' Kaley cheered, before getting up and moving the table back so she could sit at Max's feet. Max looked down at her smiling, wondering what on Earth she was up to. Then Kaley gently touched Max's larger stomach, feeling the tightness and curves. Max's face showed he had never been touched like this before. Then Kaley put her lips to the underside of Max's bloated stomach and started kissing it all over. Max quivered with sexual tension at being kissed like this. 'Is this all my cooking in here?' Kaley whispered, stroking the underside of his gut again.

'I think it might well be,' Max smiled, rubbing the shelf of his gut proudly.
'But you still haven't said...' Kaley went on, pushing her nose into the cavernous belly button on Max and breathing in deeply, before coming out again to continue. '...tell me one thing about you that isn't perfect.'

Two years later, the news through the grapevine was that Hannah had kicked out Tom and was now dating his best friend Chris. That girl could never be happy for long. Kaley meanwhile was sitting pretty with a further two restaurants and a major deal with a nationwide supermarket to produce some of her desserts. Max had hated his job in sales, especially since he had gained so much weight and so he now worked as an accountant for Kaley.

'Hey sexy!' Kaley shouted, entering their new, much larger apartment, carrying a huge tray of leftovers. 'I have so much food tonight! I hope you're hungry?' She could hear Max starting to get up out of his chair. 'Don't get up! I'll be over in a second!' she called, placing the food on another tray and taking it over to him. Max was now a very large man indeed, weighing in at close to 450lbs, with a rotund, heavy ball gut resting in his lap. He was shirtless, as always these days and smiled contentedly at seeing Kaley and kissed her as she bent down to him.

'This looks delicious!' Max delighted, greedily gazing at all of the meats and swallowing as his mouth watered uncontrollably.

'How was your day?' asked Kaley, perching herself on the arm of the chair and lightly touching the very protrusive shelf of Max's belly.

'I saw them make these great little cream cakes on the cookery channel earlier!' he enthused between mouthfuls. 'They didn't look half as good as yours though!'

'Subtle!' laughed Kaley, kissing the love of her life on the cheek. 'Give me an hour and I will see what I can do...'
