Chapter 3

I was shocked at this but the video seemed to skip right to the end of the week. The man was five times his original size now, and unlike before, he seemed to be eating constantly. Clothes were no longer an option for this one I could only watch as I saw every curve jiggle with every movement, it was hypnotic to me almost. No longer asking, or having time to ask for anything. "As you can see, what we feared has taken place. We couldn't stop the progression and his hunger has caught up with him. We can only assume he is the same as before mentally, but we haven't had a word out of him for two days. A new problem has developed in the lab. The chemical's effects seem to be airborne as it evaporates. Everyone in the lab has been feeling the effects, we've been sealed off from the outside world, I could really use another shot of that stuff." Then the video shut itself off.

"That lab was taken care of, as you know. More research on the chemical revealed they simply overdosed on it. Its a problem we've easily been able to overcome in the three years since this was taken, but we have found a new discovery we thought the Government might be interested to know. It's in our files but we thought you'd want to see this--" he was cut off by a man in black. "Get to the point, Doctor." The man in the lab coat stumbled on his words and had to collect himself. "Fine. The point is this--" And I sneezed, at the worst possible time I sneezed and instantly all the attention was on me. I had little time to react. By the time they inspected my hiding place I was gone. Booking it back to the elevator and going up was easy. Getting off the rig wouldn't be. The cameras would have seen me by now and they would have just need to check them to see me. I had to go into action hero reporter mode for a minute. The boat was way down there, on the water. "Damn," was all I could say I could take the elevator down, or I could jump from here. It didn't look that far and an elevator would get me trapped. I decided to take my chances with the fall. I said a silent prayer and took a dive off the ledge.

Take my advice. Never, ever jump if you don't have to. I was closer to the water then I appeared to be at first it seemed, but the pain was about the same, oh and hitting the water was not fun either. But I escaped the clutches of the mad scientists, and my flashdrive was still protected. Getting into the boat proved to be difficult, but not impossible. I started the engine and quickly untied the boat. I was on my way home in no time. I looked back just in time to see the agents getting to the rail, shooting at me, but they had no real chance of hitting me. I had to move faster. I didn't see any thing following me home in the night sky.

Once I got to the pier climbed onto a dock and booked it. It wasn't a nice part of town so I had to be careful for anybody who might want more of me then money. It must have been my lucky night because within fifteen minutes I was home. I needed to deal with the information, but first thing was first. It was shower time. World changing information could wait. Sorry, some details you just need to imagine all on your own, but believe me it wasn't anything too special.

Twenty minutes later I was at my computer, had a bite to eat was ready to delve into the world of mad science. Everything was here that they had at the site it seemed, where better to start then at the beginning? This is what I got out of the files, it wasn't much but it was enough to make sense to me.

Origin of Vitamin Z: Six years ago the meteor fell from the sky and hit in the middle of a hurricane. The storm covered up the landing from the public, but not our satellites that had detected the approach of this thing sometime before that. We immediately began work on the station. Drilling into the meteor from the stars provided some interesting results. The liquid we call Vitamin Z is everything we hoped it would be and more.

Interior of the Rock: Life, can you believe it. The material we are getting from the vast stone is biological in nature. This is amazing as discovery as any. It's beyond my wildest dreams so far, testing is going well and I think we can make this work the way we need to in a few weeks or so. This liquid may be alive, but it seems to be more like a plant then anything, it's regenerating within the rock. As fast as we can pump it out, it seems to just make more. We have an unlimited supply!

The files go on with the the annoying technical details that would only be useful after a month of studying and code breaking. I'd give it to the tech guys later on so they could deal with it. But I read enough to know that the world was in for a very rude awakening when it came to their favorite drinking stuff. Lucky for me I was able to make my world just disappear with false information. I was safe for the moment. I got some sleep.
