Chapter 7

I out ran the monster in my car, but I wasn't running away anymore. A few miles out of town there is a nuclear power plant. In the movies radiation is the cause of all the horrors of modern society. But this time, I hoped it could be the reason for a solution to the world's new problem. It only took a few minutes to get there at the speed I was going. Nobody was here It seems, good. All I had to do was wait to see if my delusions were not as I thought they were at all. The military didn't know that the monster was following me, the plant was far out of the city but it soon became apparent that the monster had suddenly changed course and was moving straight towards the plant. I could see it within twenty minutes of arriving here. All I had to do was let the monster destroy the plant and let nature take its course.

I guess I didn't plan on living through the experience. The beast slammed into the structure with all of it's alien strength. At the same time the morons in the military decided that would be a good time to attack. It would turn out to be a good thing for my plan. I was already running from the plant. The car I took here was crushed into nothing. I don't remember what happened next, some missile was fired and it landed close enough to send me flying into the dirt.

I don't know how long it was, but I woke up face to face with the monster. It was so massive, but my plan must have worked. The monster was laying there. It looked dead, burned almost. The radiation did what it was supposed to. It killed the monster on the cellular level. At least I could only hope so. It wasn't long before soldiers in their hazmat suits came to take me away. I looked back, and for a brief second I could see it's eye twitch, but I was too close to the radiation. I could feel it inside me as it ate away at me. But something felt weird, I looked at my hands and they were covered in the blood of the monster. There was no telling what the mix of radiation and the weird blood would be, all I could do was wait and see.

They put me in a holding cell. It was a drab and boring place. Not that I noticed too much. I was too busy playing with my own new found abilities. The radiation mutated the blood of the monster and now, inside of me it was reacting yet one more time. My flesh was expanding, and contracting. The fat cells in my body were being controlled by my mind! It was as if the I had become the new carrier of the infectious blood. To take the place of the monster that had fallen, I had become the new monster, well. Not really a monster like the old one, just a different kind of monster society would come to know me I was sure of it. Something was going on in my mind.

The general came walking in. "We know all about your little project. Your undercover stint at the Rig. and how the monster was following you. We couldn't understand its moving patterns, but we put it all together. The beast was following you, and you if you would have went out to sea, untold number of lives could have been saved. But instead, you caused disaster on all turns." I instantly decided it was time to not be blamed for this anymore. I stood straight up and threw the table in front of me to the side like it was cardboard. "No more questions!" I was strangely really, really pissed at this guy as I broke my chains around my wrists and ankles with ease. I took one fingernail and swiped it across his face.

The effect was instant. I could watch his body begin to expand, but I didn't want to wait around. I leaped straight up through the ceiling, it was now like leaping through paper! The alarms were just beginning to sound off on the base, but I was already running at full speed. They'd never catch me at this rate. Now, the only thing I really had to do or think about was only one thing.

What was I gonna do with my new with my new found powers, fight for the forces of good, be a super villain, or give in to this overwhelming urge to simply make people gain weight at a massive pace at my will. It didn't really matter though, I figured I had much time to make my mark on the world at large.
