A not so typical freshman 15 (completed)

chapter 5

"Getting pretty big, aren't you, Connor?" Cameron said, with a condescending tone.
"Now, Cameron. That's no way to treat your older brother," Dad said to him.
"Dad, look at him. All he's been doing is eating and lounging around all day!"
"And what's wrong with that?" Mom asked. "It's his last two full months here. He'll be leaving in September. He can do whatever he wants until then and we will do whatever it takes to fulfill his needs, as parents."
"On that note, I'm getting pretty hungry," I interrupted.
"You literally just had an entire pizza. And an hour ago you had a scary amount of pancakes for breakfast. It took you an hour and a half to finish eating it all! I counted!"
"Cameron, go to your room. Until you learn to be nice to your brother, and don't even think about stepping a foot outside." Dad said sternly.
Muttering, Cameron left.
"Alright, sweetie. I have a cake ready for you in the kitchen. I'll bring it out for you in a second," she said.
As she left, my dad asked me, "So, how're you holding up?"
"Better than ever. And Dad, when do you think we'll go clothes shopping? I'm soon gonna run out of the clothes I have left. They're all, um, tearing apart."
"Seems like someone's gaining weight!"
"Heh..."
"Doesn 't seem like you mind it too much. Must come from your Mom's side. You know how her side of the family is, right?" I started to think about my uncles and aunts and the rather larger sizes they all were. Even my grandpa was pretty hefty for his age. It kinda made sense how Mom wasn't too phased by my weight gain.
"Yea, you're probably right. Plus, I can assure you that the clothes I am currently wearing will have their life spans curtailed today. That, I can guarantee."
All Dad did was laugh.

Around the middle of July, my mom began ramping up the amount of food she gave me. The day I'd leave was steadily approaching. Even more doughnuts, cakes, burgers, fries, and hot dogs were offered than ever before. When I wasn't being offered food, I would be secretly making some milkshakes for myself in the kitchen, composed of primarily primarily cake batter, creating a thick and delicious snack.
One day, a friend of mine (Evan), who had also taken a liking to gaining some weight, had a marvelous idea. The two of us perused through the grocery store, finding any and all things "Oreo" related: Oreo ice cream, oreo cookies, oreo cake, oreo everything. Once we finished, the two of us headed to my place, blended all of it up and had ourselves a delectable treat.
It was nearing the beginning of August. One more full month before I left my family.
