Futurebots

chapter 2

In a typical family, the home bot would wake all the humans up in the morning. It would run the shower, put out the neatly pressed clothes that the humans had to wear that day. It would make the bed and help anyone who struggled to get washed and dressed on their own.
Once everyone was up, washed and dressed, they would have a delicious breakfast laid out for them. They could have whatever they wanted from cereal or toast, to pancakes or a full English. It was like being in a hotel restaurant every morning!
The children would be taken to school by the home bot and taught by another home bot when they got there. They were supervised at break and lunchtimes by bots. They could have anything they liked to eat at lunchtime, cooked by bots. Then at the end of the school day, they were brought home by bots.
They could watch telly once they got home, featuring bots as presenters and actors, or play video games designed by bots.

Many pleasures of life were removed by employing bots in every walk of life. No human dancer could compete with a dance bot. Indeed, all competitions became pointless because the bots would always win.
Gambling became less of a thrill because the bots always won and everyone had plenty of money anyway.
Extreme sports became more popular for thrill seekers such as potholing and skydiving.
But most of the human population were happy to stay at home. Socialising and parties were popular.
All drugs were legalised. After all, did it manner if you decided to spend all day every day getting drunk or stoned when you didn't have to think about work? You could afford it after all. No one could ever get into debt with anyone.
Most humans did not do much.
After breakfast, they might sit around watching telly for a few hours and then meet up with freinds for lunch. Lunch could take several hours, then they would come home, have a nap, and get ready for dinner.
There was no such thing as fast food anymore. Everyone had plenty of time to sit down and eat. There was always plenty of choice and many courses.
No one ever had to eat a ready meal out of the freezer any more at home. The bots always had plenty of time to cook everything from scratch in the most efficient manner and always made it look beautiful on the plate.
The majority of humans put on a few extra pounds.

The fashion industry was now ran by bots. The model bots did not have to starve themselves or spend hours in the gym to stay slim or look fit. They were designed to look beautiful. Other bots took the photographs, processed them and handed them to the magazine editors, who were all bots.
Home bots bought the clothing for their humans. They bought what they thought was the most suitable in the most appropriate size.

Bots could not get fat, so it became fashionable for humans to show off their extra pounds by wearing clothes that were just a little bit too small.
It was fashionable to overeat.
Popping buttons, clothing that ripped or failed because the human wearing it was too fat or had eaten too much was applauded.

I’ve never heard of this anime series. The idea strung from my own imagination.
