chapter 5

Laura got into her school routine easily. She especially liked Wednesday and Friday. She got to sleep in and take an afternoon nap on those days. She had promised her mom she would keep up her lap swimming but Laura had not even thought about that since being reunited with her friends and her food. About a month after getting back to school, Brady called and asked her out. She quickly accepted and then panic set in. What would she wear?

When Ava got back from the Chinese food run, Laura told her about her date and her wardrobe dilemma. It was a casual date which was good but she didn't own anything aside from leggings. She had given up on jeans, saying she was just too curvy for them. Ava had a great idea. She could ask Lucy for something to borrow. Even though Laura's top half was smaller than Lucy, her bottom half was quickly catching up to her. She texted Lucy who offered to take her to her apartment the next day after classes.

When Laura told Lucy it was just dinner and a move and he was coming to her, not going to the city, Lucy began pulling options out of the closet. She even threw some jeans on the bed, saying they are super stretchy and sexy. Laura had her doubts about the jeans. Lucy had two black dresses that were too tight for her on the top. She told Laura to try those first. The first one was a little loose on the arms but the boobs look good and even though the bottom was tight, it wasn't obscene. The second black dress looked like someone had pained it on her with a roller. Lucy laughed and said she hadn't worn that since freshman year. She tried on some other options including the jeans. She laughed as she stretched the button to get it closed. She had major muffin top and wondered how Lucy could fit in them. They were also way too long. Her breakup with jeans continued.

Laura borrowed the black dresses and another long red blouse that would look good with her leggings. Lucy told her to keep the black dresses because there was no way she could wear them any time soon. They went to celebrate Laura's first real date by grabbing some beer, pizza, wings and ice cream. Laura asked if she should pretend to eat healthy on her date. Lucy told her definitely not. She said that she should be herself and besides, she had showed him pictures of her weight gain so he already knows she like to eat.

The rest of the week was a blur of classes, naps and eating. That Saturday, Laura got an early shower so her long hair would have time to dry. She shaved her legs which was becoming a bit difficult with the mass of fat between her eyes and her legs. After her shower she snacked and laid on the bed in her robe. The robe didn't really close anymore at the bottom so she threw the cover on. A bag of chips and pack of cookies later, she felt ready to get up and continue.

Brady sent a text that he would be there in 20 minutes. She looked herself over in the mirror. She had dried and curled her hair and put extra effort into her makeup. She had Lucy's black dress on. Not the tight one- she would save that for later dates if there were any. She couldn't help but notice that her boobs were popping out over the top of her bra a little. Of course her big belly and giant ass were on full display. She had wanted to wear tights but she couldn't get them over her thighs. Then she was going to wear tall boots but they wouldn't zip. She settled for her cute silver converse. She wore her silverfish jacket over the dress to match the shoes and give it a casual look. She felt beautiful.

Brady came to pick her up in a rented car. When he came to the door, he smiled and told her she looked awesome. He was wearing black jeans and a blue dress shirt which was tucked in and showed off his round belly. She told him he looked nice too. They went to a nice local Italian restaurant that Laura had never been to. Brady encouraged her to please enjoy whatever she wanted on the menu. They had fried mozzarella and calamari for appetizers. They both drank Coke and swapped more stories. Stories of college and his first job in the big city. More stories of growing up. They seemed to be getting along really well. For dinner, Laura ordered the 6 cheese lasagna. Brady ordered chicken Parmesan. They were on their third basket of bread by the time the food came. They both finished their meals and headed to the movie.

Brady ushered her through the door he had opened and she sideswiped him with her left hip. She apologized and he smiled. He admitted to being a real movie theater popcorn junkie. She giggled and admitted she had never had real movie theater popcorn. Brady vowed to help her have the best experience. He noticed that the popcorn bin was low so he asked the boy behind the counter to make a fresh batch and they would happily wait. They were standing by the beer line and she joked that movies and beer are one of her favorite hobbies, obviously not at the theater. He said he was happy to hear that she liked beer, even if she was illeeeegal. They both laughed at him saying that. He told her most girls he knew in college hated beer.

They took their fresh popcorn, size large of course, and two large cokes to find their theater. When they got inside he asked if she wanted to go in the row first. She thought she caught him sneaking a look at her butt as she walked by. They ate their popcorn mostly before the movie had begun. Brady said that's the sign of a good popcorn experience. He offered her a napkin to clean her buttery fingers. He asked her if she minded him raising the arm between their seats. She was thankful as it was digging into her hip. She just nodded and smiled. Then he reached over and held her hand on her lap. She smiled and stole a glance down as the movie came up on the screen. Perky boobs, full belly, hips filling the chair and a man's hand in her lap. She was so happy. After the movie, Brady asked if she wanted to stay out a little longer and maybe go have some dessert or listen to some music.

Laura recommended they go to this trendy little coffee shop that had both dessert and live music. Of course she had never been there at night but she had heard it was a great place to end a date. They easily found a table and Brady put his arm around her. He said he was really having a great time with her. She said she was too. They ordered a few desserts to share and two coffees. Hers was caramel with extra whipped cream. He smiled as she enjoyed her treats. At the end of the night, he drove her back. They stopped in the parking lot and he again thanked her for a wonderful time. He asked if he could kiss her goodnight. She quietly said she'd like that. He leaned across the car and kissed her. She wasn't entirely sure what to do but hey, she watched television now so she could fake it. They kissed for a few minutes and then he said he should be going. He got out of the car and opened the door for her. She asked if he minded one more kiss before he left. He held her there in the parking lot, his had at the very bottom of her back where her butt started to stick out. His touch sent shivers through her whole body. They moved apart and then he gave her a hug. It felt good to have those big arms around her and his belly pressed into her. He walked her to the door and promised he would see her soon.

She fell on the bed told Ava that she had the best night with Brady. Ava wanted all of the details and Laura recounted the whole night in detail. Ava was happy for her friend but secretly hoped this guy wouldn't take her away from their friendship. The fact that he lived close to the city and worked a lot helped. Ava had a treat for Laura to celebrate her date. Donuts! Laura loved donuts and her sweet friend had picked up two dozen to have on hand in case Laura was hungry. Laura didn't think she could eat all 24 but she was mindlessly nibbling and talking with Ava so she didn't notice that she was easily going to finish them all. She fell asleep that night full and happy.

The time until break was passed with classes, having beer, food, and TV binge sessions with Lucy and Ava. Laura's weight game seemed to have slowed down but she wasn't sure how that could possibly be the case. She ate all the time and could drink more beer in one setting than Lucy or her boyfriend. Speaking of boyfriends, she FaceTimed or talked to Brady most nights. They got together every other weekend. Laura's favorite get together were when she would meet him and go into the city. She loved New York. She really wanted to move there after school. She would uber to the closest train station on their side of town or have Ava drive her. Then she would take the train to Brady's station and they would go out. The week before Thanksgiving break he asked her if she wanted to see a show in the city. A friend of his had tickets and couldn't go at the last minute. He offered to let her stay at his place since it would be so late when the show got out. She accepted and then went into panic mode. What should she wear, what should she take with her? What exactly was going to happen at this sleepover? She and Brady had made out multiple times but a sleepover was different. Ava advised an emergency shipping trip.
Laura agreed in an instant.
