Growing love affair....with food!

Maisie sat down in the employees lounge only to find a large plate of food. Nothing special. Meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy with a big glop of creamed corn. Typical diner food. She took her fork in her hand and instead of eating she just played around with her meal. But out of the corner of her eye she happened to see Max glaring at her. She didn't know Max very well but she could tell at a glance that he was mightily pissed off with her. So she dug her fork into the mashed potatoes and took a bite. She was shocked and most pleasantly surprised. She had expected the potatoes to taste like library paste, just like her mother used to make. Instead the potatoes were thick, rich and buttery and the gravy was hearty with a combination of meat and herb flavors that tickled her palate and inspired her appetite. It took next to no time for her to have finished off the plate, even sopping up all of the gravy with a couple of Max' home made biscuits. Maisie was in gustatorial heaven. From that day on Max didn't have to ask Maisie twice if she wanted to partake of his fabulous meals.

From that day forward Maisie made it a point to NEVER miss an opportunity to gobble down one of Max' creations. She was there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes she'd deliberately stay late just to see if Max had any leftovers. You might think that Max had some magic appetite stimulating powder that he added to his meals but there was nothing magic about Max' cooking. Whatever magic there was in his food came from the wonderful ingredients he used. There were never any shortcuts for Max. Everything was fresh, homemade and delicious. The magic for Maisie was that this was the first time in her life that she was exposed to nicely seasoned well prepared meals instead of the bland gunk her mother slapped together. For the first time in her life her taste buds were stimulated to the max and she felt an urgent need to eat as much as she possibly could. Needless to say this was to have a profound effect on Maisie, her figure, her lifestyle and her very future!
