It was an interesting phenomenon. As Maisie saw that her body was changing due to her weight gain, so was her personality. All her life Maisie wanted to do wild and crazy things to her body but was so gripped with fear that she couldn't bring herself to do it. But it seemed as if the chubbier she made herself, the more her inhibitions seemed to drift away.

When it came to puberty, Maisie was a late bloomer. For instance, when it came to body hair, even at age twenty-one Maisie looked like a little girl, smooth in places that for most women were hairy.
