Chapter 2 - first semester

2.
Emily Plump and her girlfriend were sad to see Donna's daughter leave for school. In the month they'd known her they'd become well acquainted and quite friendly. The Dansons had moved in just after the Tubton town festival, so regretfully they'd missed the best time of the year. Emily and Cathy still did their best to be good neighbors though and showed the mother and daughter what Tubton had to offer. Funnily, Emily had seen a shipment of a treadmill and some other gym equipment arrive to the Danson house just before Charlotte had left for school. It must have been for Donna. Perhaps she was beginning to take notice of the town's effect on her waistline. Emily smiled and patted her belly. She'd make sure her new friend wouldn't have to worry about that treadmill for much longer.

The first weeks of school were everything Alexa could have dreamed of. She managed to get a class with Charlotte around lunch time, so the two girls could meet up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They went out to parties, met some of the other girls in their dorm, and Alexa even had her first one night stand. College life was going great.
There was one strange thing though. About half the kids at Greenview were from Tubton and it seemed Charlotte was right. The Tubton half of the student population were all overweight and not just that but seemingly proud of it. Bellies sticking out from under croptops, thighs stretching out shorts, love handles pooling over waistbands. It was weird too see so many people so unbothered by their weight. Alexa realized that Tubton must have been a very... open community, but it still came as a shock to her that everyone from that town was a chubster.
In the times that she came over to visit, Alexa could see that Mrs. Danson was beginning to take on the look of a Tubtonite as well. On her first visit she still tried to squeeze into her pantsuit, but by the next she showed up to take the girls to lunch in a hoodie and sweatpants. Alexa could almost see her belly peeking out from underneath the hoodie.
Charlotte would make a little fun of her mom for putting on the weight, but she didn't seem to worried about it. She had stuck by her promise to work off the baby fat from the move and by the first week was back to her usual self. Weirdly though, after she went back to Tubton to stay with her mom for a weekend, Alexa noticed that when she came back it seemed as though she had regained all the weight. She didn't say anything about it and this time neither did Charlotte. She didn't lose it this time either. Charlotte would go back every other weekend and each time she came back just a little plumper. It would have been unnoticeable to anyone else, but as the semester went on, Alexa could see her thighs begin to swell to the point of just rubbing together when she walked. She watched as her belly crawled weekend by weekend across Charlotte's legs when she sat. Charlotte didn't seem to notice. She hadn't bought new clothes and though she didn't need any, Alexa could tell she was beginning to push them a bit.

One night, Alexa looked over at the sleeping form of her roommate. It was towards the end of the semester by now. She saw that her friend's thighs, previously toned and muscled, had become thick and round, pulling against the fabric of her shorts. Charlotte's stomach rose and fall with each breath, making her thin shirt ride further and further up, exposing the soft and pudgy flesh beneath. Her larger breasts lay across her chest and even her lips seemed plumper. Alexa swallowed hard. Her friend was no longer the track star she once was. But she couldn't say it didn't look good on her.
