The dancer's conflict

Chapter 3 - rachel

It's a week later and Rachel and Jack along with the rest of their school are at the National Irish Dance Championship. They're waiting in anticipation for the results of their friends and Rachel's competition. Rachel is still incredibly nervous, to the point that she skipped last night's dinner and breakfast; until now she hadn't realised this. She'd calmed down a lot since getting into the auditorium and thus, her appetite had come back. Her stomach let out an incredible rumble that overpowered the noise of the whole auditorium and Jack heard it.

"Was that your stomach, Rachel?"

Her belly let out a shorter but just as audible growl.

"Yeah... I kinda skipped breakfast today"

Her tummy gurgles once more.

"...And last night's dinner."

Jack laughs

"That was wise"

Rachel blushes and looks away with a smile. At this point since talking to Jack, Rachel was becoming more and more relaxed, which in turn meant her appetite was getting more and more intense. Her stomach's rumbling was becoming painful, so she began giving her sore, hungry belly a soft rub.

"Rachel, I can hear your stomach clearly. Do you want me to get you some food?"

Rachel was hesitant at first since the only food on offer was horrible, unhealthy snack food. But her stomach's rumbling, gurgling and grumbling was almost unbearable. She reluctantly said "yes".

Jack raced off to the canteen, leaving Rachel's ever loudening tummy to suffer just a bit longer. She was rubbing her belly constantly to try and calm it down, but everywhere she looked reminded her of food. There were kids and parents eating, meal deal offers on those standing cardboard banners and even just strong scents turned her hunger up to eleven.

Jack thankfully returned quickly with an armful of chips and chocolate bars. Rachel didn't care. She demanded that Jack give her everything, not that that made a difference; she just snatched them out of his hands and tore into them. There was a pile of food and food wrappers around her and she was still BARELY satisfied.

"Jack, you didn't happen to see where the bins were did you?"

"Oh God, you aren't going to do what I think you are, are you?"

"What...? NO, I'm not going to eat stuff from the garbage, you disgusting twat!" she laughed.

Jack smiled, "Just checking. It's over there" He pointed towards the bathrooms.

As Rachel was walking towards the bin with her armful of trash, he noticed that although she was wearing her super-tight competition dress (Look them up) she had a distinct belly bulge. Jack already thought she looked good, what with her height, eyes, perfectly toned ass and cute, perky boobs that were pretty big considering her fit-girl lifestyle; but with that little tummy being just a little bit stuffed, she looked perfect, sexy even. Rachel however didn't share this sentiment.

While walking to the bin, she couldn't help but notice the judgemental looks of other dancers and even parents as she walked past the crowd up the stairs with an armful of chip packets and chocolate wrappers. She couldn't understand why - until she sat back down next to Jack.

"Stand up" he demanded.

"What? Why?" she asked nervously.

"Because you're covered in chip crumbs, salt and your mouth is covered in chocolate.

Jack got out a hand-held towel and gently wiped her face and brushed her dress off, taking a little *extra* care when rubbing her belly down and you know what, it felt as good as it looked. He never believed that those dance dresses could ever turn him on but, it turned him on. He still had to compose himself. Despite only knowing her about two weeks, she still seemed to him to be a good girl; a good woman.

"Thanks Jack" Rachel said as she sat down.

"No problem" said Jack.

Despite her hunger being satiated (just) Rachel still had the whole competition to worry about; she still had to practice! And she spent so long in a starved, practically delirious state for hours, she couldn't enjoy her new flavourful experience; she only had 30 minutes left to get everything absolutely perfect before her section was on.

Her nerves come back instantaneously and on a full belly of chips and chocolate, so did nausea. She had a few sips of water to try and calm herself and went to the training room. She danced her heart out both in there and onstage. It felt good, she knew she'd done well. But - that was only the first of three dances, and she had an hour before the next one. She sits back down next to Jack and immediately chugs half of her massive water bottle. Jack was taken by surprise and, once again, turned on.

Rachel let out an exaggerated sigh, put her hands on her slowly swelling belly watching her hands rise and fall on top of it. She turned her head towards Jack with a satisfied smile.

"Hi" she said gently rubbing her belly.

*Burp* "Excuse me" she giggled.

"Feel better?" Jack inquires sarcastically.

"Uh huh" Rachel sighs, resting her eyes.

"You sure having a nap now is a good idea?" Jack asks nervously.

"It'll be fine, trust me. Besides, I'm not having a nap, I'm just resting my eyes" She assures him.

10 minutes later she's back up in the training room. When Rachel comes back Jack notices her stuffed belly has nearly dissipated completely.

Amazing what this sport can do; he thinks to himself disappointedly. Still, she looks almost as good.

The next few hours fly by, Rachel's two other dances go extremely well and Rachel and Jack getting along like a house on fire, with Rachel getting more and more suspicious that Jack has a thing for her, not to discount Jack's efforts, he's done everything to give her hints besides saying "Hey, I think you're hot, wanna fuck?" because that obviously wouldn't work.

Results time. It takes a while before it reaches Rachel's section and every second is spent in anxious anticipation for both of them. Hearts in their throats, Rachel's section is finally announced. The places are announced last to first, with the top 5 going to the World Championship. The places come: 7th is announced, 6th... Rachel is now clutching Jack's hand. 5th... Rachel's name still hasn't been called.

4th...

3rd... Rachel's heart is about to explode at the pivotal moment. If her name isn't called for second place, then she's won.

2nd place...

Every second feels like an hour...

..."Katherine Brogue from the O'Shea school!"

Rachel had won! The entire room erupts in applause and cheering. Rachel buries her head in Jack's arms with tears in her eyes and a huge smile on her face. She goes up to get her award. The whole ceremony takes place and the day is finally over. Mostly.

"Well done Rachel!"

"Thanks Jack!"

"This deserves a proper celebration; can I buy you dinner tonight?"

"Absolutely!" Rachel exclaims without hesitation.

"Wait, really?" Jack exclaims with surprise.

"Yeah, why not?!" Rachel encourages, adrenaline still coursing through her body.

"I'm just surprised is all, last time you said no like it was final."

"I was just having a bad day, that's all. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. Now come on, I'm STARVING! Your choice!"

"Really?"

&q uot;Yeah! Anything you want! I feel like really celebrating tonight!"

"Ok, great! Awesome! Let's go."

"Yes! Just give me a minute to change."

"Ok."

Rachel 's gone for about 15 minutes before reappearing in a very thin black tank top, a heavy blue and black jacket, and her ultra-tight blue denim shorts that left nothing to the imagination and were even the tiniest bit cheeky.

"Ok. Ready?" she asked enthusiastically.
