The girl from the bank (chapters 4 & 5 added)

Chapter 4 - a tight situation

I woke up early Monday morning. I'm not usually a great sleeper, but today I was wide awake from 3 am and just couldn't get back to sleep.

The little sleep I did get was spent dreaming of a tight blue blouse and even tighter blue trousers.

It felt so real. To the point where I queried whether I was dreaming or just fantasising in my mind.

I had a big breakfast and set off to the cafe for opening time at 8.30 am. I didn't want to allow any opportunity to miss the girl from the cafe - should she pass by on her way to work.

The bank didn't open until 9.30am so I did a solid - well, distracted - hour of work with a coffee, complimentary small piece of cake, and this time as large slice of the chocolate fudge cake that caught me eye.

I setup my usual laptop and headphones combination in my preferred window seat and waited for my order to arrive.

I wasn't actually listening to anything. I simply wanted the waitress to have to get my attention by touching my doughy side again.

Perhaps this was an omen for how the day would pan out. No gentle female touch to my side today as the waitress juggled several orders in her hands and slipped my drink and cake beside my laptop.

After inhaling the cake and coffee and not really doing any work, I packed up and headed to the bank.

I wondered in and slowly made my way to the cashpoint.

As I approached, I carefully scanned the banking booths for the girl from the bakery.

No luck as I neared the cashpoint.

I withdrew some cash and hesitated as I thought through my next move.

A man joined the queue behind me and my dwell time was up.

I couldn't see the girl from the bakery and concluded it must be her day off. I'd have to try again tomorrow.

There was no point in enquiring whether I could open a new account here if it was with any old cahsier.

Somewhat deflated, I folded my newly acquired cash into my wallet with my laptop wedged under my arm.

As I moved some receipts and loyalty cards with one hand, a £10 note slipped out from between my fingers and onto the floor.

I bent over and placed my laptop onto the floor to retrieve my cash and the back of my shirt came untucked revealing my considerable love handles.

I put my wallet away and rearranged my shirt before I could draw any unwanted attention to this embarrassing situation.

It really had been a bad omen to start the day. I hadn't met (or even seen) the girl from the bakery and I'd made a fool of myself in front of potentially her colleagues and customers.

I walked more briskly out of the bank than I entered, looking back to check that nobody was watching me as I exited.

As I turned to look back the way I was going...booof!

I walked right into...no way was this possible.

I'd walked straight into the girl from the bakery!
