The future is... chubby

Chapter 4 - something something something whatever time travel

Elsa had a plan, she wasn’t going to sleep that night, she was going to wait for whatever creatures are in control of everything. She had her spear and figured that they couldn’t be that much bigger than a normal human.

She waited for night fall in the palace, spear in hand. It wasn’t any easy wait, though. She sat, bored as hell, against a huge pillar in the center of the sleeping chamber. As she ran out of things to keep her mind busy, she felt her mind shift to food, and how hungry she was. Elsa hadn’t eaten anything all day, trying to starve herself since something had gotten rid of the fish she’d been eating. Her stomach growled and she sighed as she new she had to eat something.

She walked to the meadow, with the same picture she’d seen everyday now, the chubboi sitting on the grass, fattening themselves up for whatever ruled over them.

She grabbed a large, red fruit, covered in lumps like a gourd. It was similar to a peach or apple in shape, but the size of a small melon. She took the fruit back to the chamber in the palace, sat back down and bit into it. A sweet, red syrup burst out, covering her mouth and dripping down her chest. She hadn’t had this one before, it didn’t have flesh like a normal fruit, it was completely full of this thick red goo, filled with something like seeds, but were more like smaller versions of the fruit she was eating. She almost enjoyed feeling them burst in her mouth, like caviar.

As her stomach filled to capacity, Elsa hoped this would be the last time she did this. In the back of her mind, she knew that even if she found the time machine, it had no fuel, so it as useless as a chair, a very expensive and elaborate chair. She took out the the stone she’d been using as a makeshift knife and sharpened her spear.

Night fell, with all the Chubboi sleeping like they’d been heavily sedated, Elsa was still awake and determined. Her eyes burned from exhaustion, and damning the fact that she didn’t bring supplies and more importantly some coffee. Finally, she heard shuffling coming from down the hall, followed by chattering that sounded similar to the language the Chubboi used, but the voice that produced it sounded like somebody gargling broken glass. Adrenaline kicked in and she stood, ready to beat the hell out of whatever came through the doorway. As it got closer her enthusiasm faded and was replaced with terror, when she heard more than one voice and set of heavy footsteps. The professor quickly changed her mind about fighting quickly snuck over to an available bed, but she just wasn’t fast enough, as the creatures stomped into the hall like demonic soldiers. She stood in shock at what were obviously the males of the Chubboi, the second before either of them reacted to each other’s presence felt like an hour. They were much larger than her, similarly fat as the females, but looked strong enough to over power her with no effort, she had called the female Chubboi goblins before, but the men fit that description better.

The professor thought about her options, she was definitely faster, since these things had man sized guts hanging down to their knees, but they could probably catch her before she could clime out of the high windows, she could use the spear and fight them, and maybe run once she got between them and the way out or... wait and see what they do and figure out an escape plan later.

They didn’t give her time to decide and started heaving themselves towards her as fast as their enormous bodies could. Elsa held out her spear, they didn’t react... or they didn’t care. When they got close enough to her, she jabbed one in the stomach with her spear, causing almost no damage, but enough to hurt it. She thrusted it at another, but it snapped and didn’t even break the skin. The professor used the sharpened stone and slashed it across the face, cutting it above the eyes, blinding it as blood dripped into its eyes, but she lost track of the third one, and it got behind her and grabbed her. She was right about how strong they were, as it squeezed her and she dropped her makeshift blade. She looked around and of course none of the female Chubboi had even stirred.

She couldn’t do anything, all the fat had padded them protected them from all her kicking. She started to fall forward, and had a second of relief thinking the creature had dropped her, then she felt it falling with her and it slammed on top of her. Under all that, she couldn’t get any air and was close to passing out, when it finally got up. Then she heard a voice commanding them, a voice that sounded human.

Still dazed, Elsa looked up to see a silhouetted figure,” now this is unfortunate, I really wanted to give you a chance before we sent you to be processed.”

Elsa had a million questions and as she opened her mouth to speak, the monster above her dropped back down with all its weight, she struggled as hard as she could, but she felt her consciousness start to fade and as the Chubboi stood, she lay passed out on the cold stone floor.
