“What’s wrong with having some pop in the fridge?” Kate innocently shrugged. She was well aware of how unhealthy pop was. Her father had only let her drink it on special occasions growing up. Kate knew that the liquid sugar in pop didn’t work the same way as in solid foods. Consuming pop during a meal would never cause someone to eat less, after all, pop was just empty calories with no nutritional value. That’s why it was the perfect weapon for Kate to use to fatten up her brown-eyed rival. It even had a big effect on the brain’s reward system, Kate knew a fair share of friends back in Ohio who were totally addicted to the stuff, but the real cherry on top for Kate was something she’d googled. Drinking pop regularly could cause Mia to accumulate substantial amounts of belly fat. It was like a magic bullet! Getting Mia accustomed to drinking pop daily was one of the centerpieces of Kate’s plan, the lovely beverage would be the most fattening aspect of Mia’s new diet. The only trick was actually getting Mia to drink the stuff, and in that regard, Kate had gone to great lengths to ensure her plan’s success.

“We civilized people call it SODA.” Mia grunted, as the burning sensation in her mouth was eroding her patience. Kate just smiled to herself. She’d take all of Mia’s annoying, snobbish and rude behavior and use it as motivation to fulfil her plan.

“I was wondering if you’d wanna throw a little housewarming party tonight? Just for the sorority.. their boyfriends.. maybe a few other people.. Nothing too crazy yet.” Kate innocently proposed, while Mia bent over and maneuvered some bottles of soda out of the way. She’d spotted the new water pitcher, it was just located way in the back of the fridge. Mia’s ass swayed ever so gently back and forth as she loudly messed around with the contents of the fridge.

“But it’s only Tuesday.” Mia grunted, as she tugged the water pitcher out only to realize Kate had put it back in the fridge without refilling it.

“Tipsy Tuesday!” Kate cheered, as Mia shot Kate an annoyed glare and held the empty water pitcher in front of her face.

“Don’t put it back in the fridge unless you fill it with water! What’s the point of a water filter if you’re not gonna use it?” Mia announced in an annoyed fashion.

“Sorry! I must have done it when I was cooking.” Kate feigned her apology, as Mia went to fill up the pitcher in the sink.

“Ugh! I hate waiting for the water to filter! That dip has some kick, I’m dying right now!” Mia vented, while fanning her mouth with her free hand. Kate saw an opportunity.

“If you’re okay with throwing our little party tonight.. I could make you a drink right now to help with that kick.” Kate proposed, as Mia’s irritated expression seemed to dissipate. Fighting to hide a devilish grin, Kate sweetly offered, “I can fix you a rum and coke!”

“Haha, sure.” Mia smiled, as Kate opened the fridge and then a bottle of regular coke. Mia’s eyes widened at the sight, “Don’t you have any diet coke?”

“Umm no.. regular coke was on sale so.. I just couldn’t pass up the savings.” Kate inventively responded, as Mia sheepishly frowned.

“Whatever. Hurry up.” Mia sighed, while Kate hurried to the bar in the party room and grabbed a new bottle of rum before scurrying back to the kitchen. She finished making Mia’s drink in a hurry, probably adding too much rum in the process, but it seemed like Mia wasn’t gonna call her on it. She was just happy to have something to counteract the dip.

“You’re welcome.” Kate voiced an overly friendly fashion.

“Thanks.” Mia quickly responded, as her mind turned to other things, “Did you invite people before you asked me?”

“Of course not.” Kate abruptly gulped.

“Umm-hmm. Good.” Mia slowly nodded. It was obvious Kate was lying, but there wasn’t anything to be gained from calling her on it right now. So, as Mia grabbed another chip and took a lavish second tasting of the salmon dip, she figured it was best to just let Kate off easy this time. After all, the dip was super good.

“I’ll be right back, I’m gonna go invite people and get ready.” Kate mentioned, as she started off toward the front of the house.

“Okay!” Mia replied with her mouth full.

“How does 6 o’clock sound as a start time?” Kate called to Mia after she left the room.

“Sounds fine!” Mia replied, as she grabbed a third chip and tried to get more salmon dip onto it this time.

“Would you mind inviting Jessica and Lara over? They can get here early if you want.” Kate called down to Mia, but Mia wasn’t listening anymore.

“Yeah!” Mia called back absentmindedly, as she took a sizable gulp of her rum and coke. Kate had made her drink freaking strong. She was already feeling a bit tingly. Mia didn’t wanna get tipsy too fast, so she decided to ease up on her drink, at least until after she got ready. She was excited. It would be fun seeing everyone again after so much time. There was about two hours to kill before people started showing up, luckily for Mia, the dip Kate made was the perfect thing to munch on while she waited for things to kick off.
