Chapter 2 - v returns

Crime was at an all time low and the rate of violence in the city was dropping. Full bellies kept the people docile. Many families were brought out of poverty with the economic boom. And of course, many citizens had simply become too fat for crime, their heavy bodies unable to make a quick escape. However, the desire to grow fat faster spurred a rise of a black market specifically for body enhancement. The most promising of the enhancers was a bioengineered super formula that was guaranteed to bring about rapid weight gain in even the skinniest of individuals. The formula would cause insatiable hunger, more intense then the influence of the software. Every bite would cause the use to gain incredibly fast and reported users had allegedly put on over 500lbs in an hour. Mia decided that the best way to control the new drug was in fact, to legalize it. She then bought the patent from the producer and kept the formula for herself. This effectively took the drug off the streets. Knock off versions began appearing, but none were able to truly replicate the effects of the original formula.

In the final months of 2078, new trend had emerged. Night City residents had finally began to plateau in their gaining, setting to cities average gain to 325lbs. Celebrities tended to be around 100lbs above the average. Concerns began to arise amongst the heaviest of the city’s residents, they worried about becoming too fat to walk. That brought forth yet another business opportunity. New cybernetic enhancements to bone and muscular tissue to keep even the heaviest of gluttons on the edge of mobility.

Speaking of which, Jinx was still on par with the ideal of the weight gain trend. Nearing 600 lbs, the incredibly obese woman was the object of admiration for everyone in the office. Mia was still half the woman’s size, but was catching up quickly. The two women would send their work days feeding one another, eating, and growing bigger.

V had been on the road with Judy for a year and a half now. They traveled to all parts of the continent, from the cold northern provinces to the sunny beaches of South America. The two had explored dozens of major cities all across western hemisphere driving through wastelands, cities and surprisingly, a few natural areas begining to grow, a rare sight since the Time of the Red. She hadn’t had much of a reason to return to night city in the time frame. Until her ride began to fall apart. Sure, she could get a new truck from just about anywhere, but her ride had been The Beast, a Night City original, customized by Clair from The Afterlife. If anyone was to fix up The Beast, it had to be Clair, it was her project, her ride. Replacing it simply wouldn’t be the same. That, and she and Judy had shared some pretty fond memories in that ride.

The engine in The Beast was sounding more like a cement mixer full of scrap metal by the time V and Judy arrived in Night City. However, upon revisiting their old home, car repairs were the last thing on their mind when they saw the state of the city. First of all, everyone was fat. And not just chubby, the citizens of night city were huge jiggling masses of lard, stuffing their faces as they went about their day. Not one person looked to be under 300lbs, with some of the biggest looking to be nearly 700lbs.

After a moment of stunned silence, Judy tuned to V. “Well. Seems like there have been some pretty big changes around here”
V narrowed her eyes at Judy. “Was that supposed to be a pun?”
V shook her head, taking in what had become of night city as she drove. The beast rolled up to Clair’s garage, where V and Judy stepped out. Clair was there, however the garage had been transformed since V had last been there. It had been rearranged into a comfortable living room. V knew Clair had given up racing, but to throw away her hobby of fixing cars? It was strange.

V and Judy found Clair lounging in her newly refurbished living room, snacking away, eating mindlessly in front of a TV screen. Clair was just as big and flabby as the rest of night city. Her huge fat belly filled her lap, and her couch bowed under her weight. The woman was easily 500lbs, and was actively stuffing herself.
“Oh, hi V. Long time no see.”
“Hi Clair...uhm...I was wondering if you’d be willing to make a few repairs to ol Beast”
“Oh! No I’m done with tinkering, this belly here just kept getting in the way, and besides, being in my feet all day made it hard to keep up with fad.”
Judy chimed in “fad? More like fat.”
Surprisingly, Clair wasn’t offended by Judy’s comment and seemed enthusiastic “you think so? Me? Fat? Around here that’s quite a complement.”
Judy and V exchanged surprised looks
“You two look really famished, can I get you guys something to eat?”
V interjected quickly “Nope! We are good to go. Which is what we are doing. Going, I mean. Now. Bye”

After a rapid and awkward departure, V and Judy made their way back to the beast.
“Man, V! What the hell happened while we were gone?”
“Well, this might be a stretch but....I can’t help but wonder if Mia is behind this.”
“Your ex? Who was supposed to get you flatlined but got fat and fucked instead?”
“She’s not my ex. But yes, that’s the jist. Last time we spoke she told me she had tried out some new tech on a rival of hers called “Viper” that mad her stuff herself until she doubled in size in just a few days.”
“Oh I remember her. Ended up becoming the BD queen for chubby chasers”
“Yah. But anyways, we need to get out of the city ASAP. For all I know she’s got a grudge against me. Mia is the only one I know that has tech that can make people fatten up, and if she really is behind all this well...I don’t want to find out”

Judy and V made it to the city outskirts before they found themselves at an NCPD road block. The squad was completely made up of androids. One of them came up to the truck’s driver side window. “The Mayor is requesting your presence at the City Headquarters.”
“Well, request denied”
“I am authorized to force your compliance by any means necessary”
Judy leaned over to V “come on V, let’s just get this over with it’s not like we have much of a choice.”

Escorted by the NCPD androids, V and Judy made their way through the city to Mia’s office. They entered the building, pausing briefly at the door of the top floor board room, before entering to face Mia.

The woman was just as large as she had been when the two of them were together. Before her was a spread of all the best food Night City had to offer. Mia rose from her chair and waddled over to V and Judy, her body jiggling all the way. “Nice to see you again V. Sit down, let’s have a chat.”
“No thanks. I’d really rather not sit here and watch you stuff yourself while you threaten me.”
“Oh? No, the food isn’t for me.”
“You...want me to...”
“Wrong again. It’s for Judy.”
V was stunned and said nothing as Mia explained
“You see, I was pretty surprised when my informants told me you were back in the city. I let myself get my hopes up. Maybe after you would want to meet again...but then I noticed your output. Still with the same skinny techie pervert you were with when you rejected me. So, I decided to give you a little parting gift, make Judy your ideal girl. You still have your kinks V, I know you do.”
“What’s the point of all this, you want to hook up again or something?”
“No, no, I’ve moved on, I have someone new now. But I can’t resist meddling with your sex life V. You make it too much fun.”
Mia then turned to Judy. Holding a vial of clear liquid. “This is a serum. A masterful feat of bioengineering. Consume it, and you’ll wildly devour every scrap of food on the table, and end up as fat as I am, and maybe even bigger, within the hour. It’s up to you, Judy. I’m just doing this to get a rise out of V.”

Judy thought for a moment, looking from V, to the table, to the vial.
