Chapter 2 - arriving in the castle

Taylor walked up to the castle doors and was surprised when they opened by themselves without her knocking. She entered and once she was inside, the doors closed behind her. As the doors closed, she turned around to look at them. Gears were turning all over the door, and a bar slid across it. She could not see tell how to unlock and open the door.

She eventually turned around again so that she could proceed walking further into the castle. Once she was turned around, she could see a door open and a very tall woman walk through it. The woman had to duck to get under the doorway. From where Taylor stood, it looked like the woman was 10 feet tall! The woman wore a long white dress, black gloves, and was very pale. She began to approach Taylor.

"I heard the doors open from my wine room. You must be our latest guest!" The woman said.
"Yeah, I am Taylor Vaines. This is quite the home you have here!" Replied taylor.
"Yes. It has been in my family for generations. I have owned it since my father died in 1962." The woman said.

Taylor began doing math in her head. This woman looked no older than 40, but she inherited the state almost 60 years ago?

While Taylor was doing this mental math, the woman walked over to the door and pulled what looked like a family crest off of the door. Taylor saw that there was also a gear on the back of it.
"Where are my manors? I am Lady Deborah Dragoi. Anyways, let's get you to your room." The lady said.

The bedroom was extravagant, but also clearly from a past time. Not only was there no tv, but there was not even a phone or any electricity going to the room. Once Taylor realized this, she suspected she would have a very boring few weeks here.

A few hours passed with Taylor getting herself settled in her room before Lady Dragoi knocked on the door. When Taylor opened it, the smell of delicious food hit her nose. Lady Dragoi crouched and entered the room through the doorway, and a cloaked, hooded, attendant followed her in carrying a cart of different foods.
"I forgot to tell you earlier, but food is on the house while you are staying here. The chefs are world class, so hopefully you like it!" Lady Dragoi said to Taylor.

Taylor began to look through what was on the table. She saw food dishes from all over Europe on the cart.

Taylor saw Lady Dragoi watching her and waiting for her to try something, so she grabbed a plate and took a fried meat roll.
Taylor felt a wave of flavor hit her mouth. It was delicious!

"This food is delicious! It might be the best food I have ever eaten!" Taylor said to Lady Dragoi while grabbing another helping of the meat roll.
"I am really glad it is to your liking." Says Lady Dragoi.

Lady Dragoi then leaves the room and Taylor continues to eat the meat rolls.
