chapter 2-1 be careful around slime, amber!

It’s been a couple weeks since we started adventuring. The 4 of us plan on pooling our savings for a small house once we have enough so we don’t have to keep paying for inns. Izzy and Aaron are really gunning for a 3 roomer so me and Amber can have our spaces while they can be alone together.

We’re currently walking towards our next quest, slime stalking.

Aaron: “hey Mike can you be a bro for me?”

Me: “ya?”

Aaron: “can you spend a couple hours out around the town tonight? It’s just me and Izzy haven’t had a room to ourselves for a while and we wanna-”

Aside from the first night, every night at the inn, we’ve split the rooms between boys and girls. So I can already tell what he’s trying to say.

Me: “ya that’s fine, I understand but can you help me grab a girl at the pub some time then?”

My cherry still hasn’t been popped yet. Might be because I was raised in a church for a lot of my life, maybe cuz I was too focused on knighthood in school.

Aaron: “easy one man. You help me get some action, I’ll help me”

Aaron did a weird finger pointing gesture and then went off to Izzy, whispering the news in her ear. She started skipping with anticipation. I never would have assumed she was so sex driven.

In contrast, Amber was slinking behind. Amber’s gotten rather pudgy recently. Not quite chubby but you can tell her clothes have gotten a lot tighter. After the incident with the dress on day one of adventuring, she’s worn 2 piece outfits although she hasn’t slowed her eating speed at all. Last night I was sitting next to her and she had such a cute belly protruding through her shirt.

I went up to talk to her.

Me: “hey uhhh, something wrong? Your burying your face in that hat?”

Amber: “no. Just tired.”

Me: “okay. Stay up late on something?”

Amber: “spell practice. Trying to memorize the 700 verses in this tome off by heart is pretty energy consuming.”

Me: “ya I had to do something like that for knighthood… wasn’t fun”

Amber: “don’t all you knights have to do is follow some codes and clobber things? I personally prefer some real intellectual strategy. Heh”

Me: “you’d think that but wrong as could be. I had to memorize so many rules and codes of honour off by heart, it’s mind numbing.”

Amber: “prove it.”

Me: “rule 123 of courtship: you may only begin eating when everyone of a higher status then you has begun eating.”

Amber: “alright, alright. Maybe you do have to be a bit smart to be a knight.”

Me: “ya and most of this stuff won’t ever apply to me, like eating in front of nobles or royalty.”

Amber: “ya nobles make eating way too complicated. All that matters is that it fuels the tank”

Amber slapped her slightly flabby stomach. It was a pleasant sight. I may have looked a second too long afterwards.

Me: “you ever eaten with nobles before?”

Amber: “ya. The food was supposedly a delicacy but it didn’t taste much better then anything else. You?”

Me: “no, no. Say you eating with nobles, that’s gotta have a story behind it right?”

Amber: “my parents are nobles actually. Poor nobles… well for noble standards but nobles none the less.”

Me: “huh… that must have been odd”

Amber: “well they still had enough money to send me to a pretty expensive mage school so don’t go feeling bad for me, Mike!”

Me: “haha well okay then-”

Aaron: “yo weirdos. We’re at the slime meadows. Cmon”

Aaron and I kept the slimes attention while Amber shot fireballs at them to burn their gelatine away, leaving the core.

Izzy: “the quest said we need to keep these cores in tact so I’ll be carrying them. We don’t want Aaron lobbing them around and squashing them.”

I noticed Amber was gone somewhere so I went to go search for her before we left. I found her by a rock, reading up on her tome still.

Me: “hey Amber, we’re going, cmon!”

Amber: “ya just a second”

I noticed a blue sludge moving near her. She was about to be ambushed by a slime…

Me: “amber, get out of there!”

Amber: “ya just a minute I gotta finish this ver-”

The slime dragged her to the ground and suddenly started filling her body with itself. I ran towards her and started clawing at it, trying to get it out.

Me: “AARON, IZZY, IT’S AN EMERGENCY!”

I managed to find the slimes core and separate it from the mass of goo. She didn’t suffocate either, she either coughed up or swallowed all of the slime’s body. My other party-mates soon arrived and we gave her medical attention.

Izzy: “did you get the slime core before it got inside her?”

Me: “yes. It’s right here.”

Izzy: “okay she should be fine then. A slime’s mucus is made of pretty much just sugar and water, it’s entirely edible. And she didn’t suffocate either.”

Me: “why’d the slime start entering her body?”

Izzy: “slimes typically use their amorphous form to suffocate their targets. Some breeds like the sucking slime fully invade people’s bodies.”

I looked over at Amber. I was happy to know she was okay. Her skirt and shirt had been pushed away by her belly, now crammed full of slime. It was kinda cute, the way it sloshed around.

Me: “is there like a medicine we can use to help her?”

Izzy: “doctors guild scalps all medicine to make people throw up. It gets rid of poison so nobles are willing to pay a lot for it. What you can do is try to push it out of her.”

Me: “hey uhh amber. Are you okay”

Amber: “… ya I’m still up”

Me: “is it okay if we try to push the slime out of your belly?”

Amber: “s-sure…”

I got behind her and put my hands on her now glove of a stomach. It felt so smooth and good. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying feeling it. I kept pushing till eventually amber was able to move around easily again.

We finished the quest and brought in the slime cores.The slime core that went after Amber sold really well because apparently it’s a rare species.
