Chapter 1 - introduction
It was a warm and sunny morning as Holly Parris looked up at her home for the next year. The two storey brick building sitting in front of her looked filled with history, a tale in every brick, but this wasn’t something Holly cared about. No, it was not the bricks that had the art major glued to the building, it was the boy in the window on the second floor, two to the left. She had yet to learn his name as she had just arrived, and yet she’d still be willing to change her major to whatever he was majoring in, despite her childhood dream of a life in the arts. He was a blonde, and even from down here clearly had a chiselled body sculpted to perfection in the gym. Holly hoped to all the gods that she would have a room near his in this co-ed dorm.“Can you stop looking at that hunk of meat so I can leave please”
Snapped out of her trance, Holly turned to face her younger sister Elaine, who was standing there in her usual, some sneakers, blue jeans, red top and ¾ leather jacket, holding one of Holly’s suitcases.
“Hey not like I told mum and dad to bring you along, you should’ve fought better to get out of it”
Elaine just grunts in response, a classic really, given Elaine’s tendency to be annoyed with everything in the world at every point in time.
“Now calm down girls, no fighting on Holly’s special day”
“Mum it’s okay really”
“No Holly, Elaine will be in your position next year and so this is a learning experience for her”
Elaine simply grunts again as we now enter the building to find my new room. They pass many interesting people on the way, but none that peak her interest, none like that boy in the window. Finally they reach her room, 13b, and find it empty, a little to Holly’s disappointment to not find a roommate already here and waiting to meet her. Elaine drops Holly’s bags that she was holding and immediately sits on Holly’s new desk chair, scrolling through her social media. Holly simply looks around astounded. She has her own place, away from her family. Sure she won’t be here alone, but she will still have a new level of independence not seen before in her life. Her mother and father, Kevin, come up to her and give her a hug goodbye.
“We’ll miss you sweetie, we were hoping to meet your roommate before you left but we’re in a rush unfortunately. We’ll see you soon ok? Elaine get your ass off Holly’s seat, you have school to get to!”
Holly pulls a smile as Elaine grunts and unwillingly gets up to leave, despite seeming to want to leave the entire time, and waves as her family leaves her room. She goes to the window and watches the road as her family walks off, down the street, to the crossing, across the road, down the street some more and then arriving at her family home. Yep, that’s right, Holly’s family lives within walking distance of the college. Holly's father Kevin had until recently been a very successful lawyer, and had provided the family with more funds than they would ever need. But a troublesome law case involving him in strictly not legal actions had led to a short imprisonment, followed by a loss of his job, the family mansion, and most of their funds. So the family had been forced to downsize, and seeing as Holly was preparing for college, her mother decided an affordable house near the campus would be her favourite place. Now while Holly wasn’t the biggest fan of not being too separate from her family, she did love them, and some home cooked meals when she was feeling lazy didn’t sound all too bad.
Now that her family was gone, it was time for Holly to focus on the real, and that was getting ready for her part time job. See, Holly’s original plan for college was to do whatever she wanted while her parents paid for her grades, but since they lost most of their funds, all of Holly’s college money had been lost. So now Holly had had to take her first ever job, and all she could get was one in fast food. Holly had never even really eaten fast food, her palette in this area was as blank as her resume, but it had been the only job that had even taken her to an interview. And so, here in her new college, the first day of her new life, full of events all around campus involving new orientations and welcome parties, she had to leave and go work 8 hours in the nearby drive thru.
As Holly was getting changed into her uniform she noticed herself in the mirror, and was impressed with what she saw. Nobody could really blame her either, she had the ideal body for the everyday man. At 110 pounds, Holly was as thin as could be. She had slim arms and waist, a triangular sharp jawline and barely B cups breasts. However she did have some density to her legs, sporting muscular, wide thighs only a few centimetres from touching due to running cross country in high school for fun. She had short blonde hair done in a bob, same as her mother, and blue eyes highlighted by her faint eye liner. She’d had a few flings back at Birchwood High, but no one ever really stuck. She just couldn’t see anything worth keeping in them, despite them seeing plenty of her over their respective relationships. Holly hoped to find something more here at college, but as she put on her loose work jeans, she wondered if she’d have the time. Still staring at her body, she tightened her belt, pulled on her shirt, packed her apron, and headed off to work.

During her break, Holly opened her work bag to grab her salad lunch, but it was nowhere to be found. Shocked in realisation, Holly remembered that she never made her salad due to all the excitement today. Hearing a grumble from her stomach, Holly knew that she would have to do what she dreaded, she’d have to get something from her work.
Not knowing what to order, having never really looked at the menu for herself before, only really taking it in to offer to others, she didn’t know what to get that would still be healthy. Finally she remembered that the store had a salad option, and opted for the Caesar variety. After taking her bag to the break room, she opened her salad and found it was not only covered with Caesar dressing, but was full of chicken pieces! She hadn’t expected this, and would definitely be eating more than she usually would a day because of this, not that she was much of a calorie counter of course. But knowing she was on a timed break, she began to dig in, but little did she know, this would be the beginning of a new life for her, a new life different than the one she thought she began when she arrived at her college dorm that morning.
