A bevy of issues

chapter 7

They made eye contact and although she was smiling there was a glimmer of distress in her eyes. She turned her head away again and angled back her breasts swayed more than they did previously. Derrick's brain chugged slowly as it tried to puzzle together what he was seeing.

“Sorry again, this drink isn’t sitting well with me.”

She pressed her fingers into the domed flesh of her midriff, a single wrinkle appeared between her copper eyebrows. Derrick finally processed what she had asked earlier and he responded in a distracted manner.

“Yeah… I drove here”

“Would you mind if I got a ride ou-urp… excuse me. Got a ride out of here with you?”

She slowly drew her hand up to the neck of her dress and pulled it down gently to show a touch more cleavage. She hid the surprise as her hand met her breasts sooner than she anticipated and again when her dress resisted the pull of her fingers.

She could feel it as her blush gathered in her cheeks, neck, and chest from her involuntary belch. Her stomach was warm and felt like it was burbling as well. She thought Derrick was cute enough, she mainly just wanted to get out of here. She could take the hit from her overseer and she had noticed the writing on the walls of this event and didn’t want to wait around for something to hit the fan.

Derrick looked around again, vaguely remembering Denise and Valerie. A button pinged off the vest of one of the staff and their hand rubbed at the frayed fabric. Distantly the sound of a seam tearing open could be heard. Derrick nodded as he turned back to face the red head.

“Yeah… that seems like a plan”

His eyes widened as the no longer slender redhead let out a relieved sigh, which caused her breasts to heave in her ill-fitting black dress. She gently placed her free hand on his arm and squeezed gently.

“I’m Brooke, by the way”

“Derrick”

His words felt thick in his mouth as he numbly responded. He began to move with Brooke in tow, their full glasses dropped on an occupied table unceremoniously. The man protested and made to stand but his sleeve was tugged by his chubby date preventing him from starting a confrontation.

Derrick and Brooke made it to one of the exits. He surveyed the party again, confirming what his mind had been grappling with. Almost everyone at the event was swelling up. His averted gaze caused him to collide with someone.

He pushed himself back, noting the way that the fleshy figure yielded to his touch. It was the woman Derrick had seen overflowing her dress earlier. Someone had draped a jacket over her front and she had been sheepishly saying her goodbyes as she made her way to the exit. Even with the garment he could tell she had thickened considerably, her rounded cheeks colored by alcohol, embarrassment, or a mixture of the two.

Derrick slipped past the rotund woman dragging Brooke with him. The red head felt her front squish against the woman as she passed by causing her to notice the way she jiggled. Brooke kept her eyes forward, she dared not look down at what was happening to her.

The sound of shattering glass silenced the entire venue, even the faint music clicked off as everyone looked around in confusion tinged with fear. Derrick pushed them through the glass double doors and out into the street.

They heard a woman along with other cries of horror and surprise before they were silenced by the closing doors.
