Room for growth

chapter 3

As if to cap off Hannah's excessively caloric first day, at around 4:30 in the afternoon she received an e-mail addressed inviting everyone in the office to please take home an extra bundt cake as there was no room in the kitchens for them. Finally, when Hannah was ready to leave, she picked up the cake Betsy had made for her, peeked in to the kitchen and found there were three more bundt cakes: two lemon and one double chocolate chip.

"How greedy should I be?" Hannah wondered to herself, as if she hadn't already glutted herself nonstop through the entire workday. Settling on taking one of each flavor, Hannah took out one of the two lemon cakes from the catering box and placed Betsy's homemade cake inside so she could carry them all out at once.

Settling down in to her car, Hannah looked down at the bloat of her softened stomach. Today has been a good day, she thought to herself, as she placed a hand between her belly hang and the top of her thigh. Jiggling her belly for a few moments, Hannah realized that she was going to have a lot of fun at this new job.

Hannah's mind began racing with feedist fantasies. How big had Rebecca gotten before Allie helped her lose weight? How quickly will Hannah get bigger just from working here? Will her co-workers comment on her expanding body? How much chubbier will Pete get? Will Allie quit her diet after the wedding? Is there another feeder or gainer in the office? The possibilities were all too exciting, and Hannah resolved to have fun finding out in time.

For tonight, however, Hannah knew exactly what she would do: she was going to hop on the couch, manually relieve some of her sexual tension, and celebrate with some greasy take out and the many cakes she had taken home with her. And then, she would go to the store and stock up on snacks for her brand new mini fridge. "And a candy bowl too!" Hannah thought to herself remembering the mindless grazing she had accomplished in Betsy's office earlier that day.

The next day, Hannah came to work with a decidedly flowier blouse and a skirt made from a stretchier fabric. Today, she had remembered to eat breakfast: a big plate of potatoes o'brien with melted cheese and sausage on the side.

As she pulled into her parking space, Hannah noticed the light on in her office. She was fairly certain the were motion-sensitive or that she had turned off before leaving yesterday. Whatever the explanation, the mystery left her mind until she settled in to her desk and went to load up her mini-fridge with all of the snacks she had brought from home: coconut caramel cookies from the grocery store to put in the mini-fridge's freezer, fresh apples and caramel dipping sauce, hummus, chips, and variety of other delicious things to munch on while she worked.

What she wasn't expecting to find was the third bundt cake left behind in the kitchen to be in her mini-fridge that morning. Somebody went out of her way to put this here, Hannah realized. "Was that why my light was on?" Hannah wondered to herself. It was the lemon bundt cake too, which she hadn't tried yet (she had decided to try the double chocolate chip bundt cake last night instead). Taking a bite of the lemon cake in the interests of science and greed, Hannah found that it was by far the best flavor cake she had had so far, and was thankfully there was a second one back home.

In a rare moment of restraint, Hannah closed the bundt cake box and bent over to put the cake back in her mini fridge. As she did so, she saw her pudgy reflection bending over with a crease across her fat belly putting a half-eaten cake away before 9 in the morning. And then through the window she noticed Addison walking up to the front entrance together. Making eye contact, Addison waved to Hannah, who had no choice but to wave back. "Everyone outside can just watch me gorge myself all day long," Hannah realized. The thought should have been embarrassing, but Hannah found herself considering the fact that she might be intrigued.

About an hour later, Hannah looked up to see Betsy at her door. "Are you coming for pancakes?" Betsy asked as if the question were obvious.

Confused, Hannah asked, "Pancakes again?"

"Leftovers from yesterday. We always order too much," Betsy explained. "You'll learn soon enough."

"Of course," replied Hannah. "I think I could go for pancakes," she continued after a few seconds of pretend deliberation.

"How are they just as good today as they were yesterday?" Hannah asked aloud as she sat down to her second breakfast with Rebecca, Allison, Pete, and Betsy.

"I rewarmed the butter and syrup," explained Rebecca.

"That's why you're the best," praised Addison.

"Seconded," added Pete.

"Where are Cindy and Allie?" Hannah asked.

"Cindy's gotta stay on the phones," replied Rebecca.

"And you missed Allie," answered Pete, "she grabbed a couple bites and went back to her office."

"She must actually be trying to stick to that wedding diet," Hannah thought to herself.

"This seat taken?" asked a very tall, pretty large man with an incredibly handsome smile. Before waiting for an answer, the surprisingly underdressed man-- just wearing a t-shirt and jeans-- sat down across from Hannah. "You must be the new girl."

"Yeah, I'm Hannah. Sorry I didn't introduce myself yesterday."

"No worries," the man replied, "I'm on a hybrid schedule, so I was at home. I'm Tyler, by the way. I'll be setting up some tech for you later."

"So, what are we all doing for lunch?" Tyler asked.

"Do they go out to eat everyday?" Hannah wondered to herself.

"Today's a food truck day" answered Pete.

"Really?" Rebecca and Hannah asked simultaneously.

Despite Hannah's secret intention of indulging herself at every opportunity, she was still trying to keep those desires on the downlow. Her genuine enthusiasm, on the other hand, got the better of her just then.

"Do you know if the elote truck is coming back?" Addison asked.

"I'm hoping for the cuban sandwich truck," commented Tyler.

Pete just shrugged. "I don't know, but it's always good, no matter which trucks show up."

"Hannah, can we do your computer set up after lunch?" asked Tyler. "I've got some other stuff I need to take care of this morning."

"Yeah that works for me," answered Hannah.

"Awesome; it's a date! See ya!" Tyler replied, as he bounded back up from the table and went back to work.

After checking their phones, Pete, Addison, and Rebecca all groaned, with Addison adding, "back to the mines. See you at lunch, Hannah!"
