Chapter 2

Jessica and Joe met each other outside the entrance to the game show, both excited and filled with anticipation for their second date. As they waited in line, they began to speculate about the nature of the show, "Upscale!" and what it might involve.

"Maybe it's about scaling buildings or something?" Jessica suggested, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Or it could be about cooking fancy dishes? You know, like upscale dining?"

Joe chuckled and shook his head. "I was thinking it might have to do with weighing objects, or maybe solving puzzles that get increasingly difficult? Either way, I'm sure it'll be a unique experience."

As they were ushered into the building, they, along with the rest of the audience, were asked to sign contracts. Without reading the fine print, Jessica and Joe signed the papers, eager to get inside and find out what "Upscale!" was all about. They took their seats, exchanging excited glances as the lights dimmed and the show was about to begin.

The stage lit up, and Wicked Tom made his grand entrance, captivating the audience with his charm and showmanship. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to 'Upscale!' – the game show where contestants will compete in thrilling tasks for big rewards, or suffer some 'large' consequences!" He paused, allowing the audience's curiosity to grow. "But first, we need to find our lucky contestants!"

Jessica and Joe exchanged nervous glances, wondering if they might be chosen but doubting it would actually happen. Wicked Tom scanned the audience, his eyes stopping on the young couple. "Ah, you two! You look perfect for our game. Please, come on up!" he exclaimed, pointing at Jessica and Joe.

A mixture of surprise, excitement, and nervousness washed over them as they made their way to the stage. The audience clapped and cheered, and Jessica couldn't help but feel a sense of thrill at being selected. Joe, too, felt a surge of adrenaline, curious about what challenges lay ahead and how they might fare.

As they stood on stage next to Wicked Tom, the host gave them a sly grin. "Are you ready to find out what 'Upscale!' has in store for you?" he asked, his voice dripping with intrigue. Jessica and Joe nodded hesitantly, not yet knowing the true nature of the game and the horrors that awaited them.
