Chapter 5 - High alert

The train pulled up the girl's station some time later. The two girls quickly getting off with the train speeding off feom the platform a short time later. Quickly the two girls made their way to the car park near the station that Hailey had her car parked in. The girls made it to Hailey's car, Hailey already have unlocked the doors from a distance. allowing the two to get inside as quickly as possible.

Debbie quickly buckled her seat belt and held her hand bag, Hailey on the other hand had some difficulty as her now fatter body pressed itself against the steering wheel, Causing her horn to go off. "Hails!“ Debbie said with some panic, getting a slight fright from the sudden horn going off "Sorry!!" Hailey apologised "I need to readjust my seat... I'm not skinny any more am I?" she sighed, as she pulled her seat lever and slid her chair back a bit, Giving her some more space to work with. Debbie looked to her friends face, Seeing the embarrassment in it...

Hailey buckled her belt and immediately hit the accelerate, her card stalling a little before it moved forward. Her making her way out of the car park and onto the streets of the town. The town was more like a ghost town, with only really car's trying to make their ways home, with some people walking on the streets, some speed walking or jogging

"This is crazy..." Debbie said as Hailey hummed in agreement. Turning on the radio, Debbie adjusted the frequency to their areas local radio, them turning into the midst of a discussion the host's were having.

"Yeah... it's pretty crazy what's happening today folks, we've already put the station on lock down for all of our safety, with a lot of our staff choosing to go home. But we that remain here, are here to provide you all with the developments and news as we receive it..." The male host sighed sounding a bit deflated "These blob things..." The female host started to speak "Why do they make people fat? Like... isn't that weird? Of all the things that can cause mass panic and the whole country going on lock down... It's a bunch of white blobs that make people fat..." She sighed "What kind of science fiction scenario are we finding ourselves in?" she sounded annoyed

"I don't know Katie... But there's one thing I don't get is how sudden this has all been going down, no warnings from the government or nothing. It's as if that not even they knew this was coming" The host let out a exhale "Like... you don't think it's some kind o...." "I'm Sorry to interrupt John but we've just received reports of these blob things in the area that we cover!" Katie interrupted him rather frantically as she had been handed a peice of paper from a member of staff of the station. Debbie and Hailey's spines went cold hearing this breaking news as they drove out the town they where in, on the road that lead to their town around 10 minutes away.

"No way... you're serious?" John asked Katie as he looked to the members of staff behind the studio glass, who where all starting to panic a bit more. "I wish I was John... I wish I was... Everyone! Please remain in your homes, and if you're making your way home. Please get there as soon as possible... please I beg of you! Be on high alert, The BLOBS are now in our area!" Katie now sounded more panicked as she addresses the listeners.

"Hails step on it! " Debbie said now more scared than ever, as Hailey sped up the cars speed, going over the legal limit. Not that she cared... it's not as if the police would care either if they passed a police car. The fact that there was now sightings of these things in their area had both girls on edge and filled with worry. They could appear at any moment in who knows what numbers... Hailey was worried about her family. Her mother and her younger siblings... she wanted to go to them, But knowing that Debbie told Tyler to go to their place... she now had to go back home, for Debbie's sake... She sighed as she was evaluating her option's. Does she drop Debbie off at their place then head for her mums? Or does she stick with Debbie and Tyler... However her train of thought was suddenly disrupted by Debbie next to her

"SHIT HAILEY THERE'S ONE ON THE ROAD!!!" Debbie shouted out as Hailey then noticed it before ramming straight into it with her car, It spatting all on the front of the car and the window "WIPE IT OFF WIPE IT OFF!!!" Debbie squealed as she seen the white substance splatted out on the window as Hailey turned on the wipers and spayed the window with water, the white goo washing of instantly "DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE!!!!" Debbie said frantically as she hit the dashboard a bit. Hailey increased her speed some more, as they drove down the road, Past the fields which had the creature's in them... As they made their way into their town.
