Chapter 1 - When everything went so well...
I woke up refreshed! Saturday morning! I thought to myself. I sprang up from my bed, took on my clothes which consisted of a t-shirt and sweatpants and walked into my apartment. The day was sunny, the wather was warm, almost everything seemed perfect."Maybe I should weigh myself before breakfast, haven't done it for a while".
Checked my body before doing so in the hallway. All I had was a little belly who didn't want to leave since last quarantine.
"Man, I need to work harder to lose this quarantine 15".
Actually, it was closer to quarantine 30. Got into the bathroom to weigh myself, The scale lit up and I stepped on it.
"200.5 lbs" the computer voice said.
"Hell yes, only 10 lbs away from what I weighed before quarantine!" I exclaimed loudly.
Feeling great about my accomplishment, I decided to get 2 sandwiches today for breakfast. Made some coffee, got the sandwiches, plopped down on the sofa, turned on the TV, and waited for those early morning reruns to start airing for my lazy saturday.
They never aired.
Instead, all channels sent the same news broadcast:
"A deadly virus has been spreading in the southwest of the united states, because of the lethality of the virus, the government has decided to issue a order of quarantine for those who are not in services that pertains to peoples helath and well being. Henceforth, a curfew for every citizen that does not belong to these categories will be instated. Anyone who breaks this curfew will recieve a hefty fine and imprisonment. To aid the citizens of the curfew, government workers will give out packages of gorceries for anyone that is effected by the curfew, so there will be no need to break the curfew for these citizens."
"My god, and we have already had the corona virus!". I was glad that the company I worked for probably still had it's routine in place since covid. Got into my bedroom and got my job laptop, took it back to the couch and opened it. Mail from the boss who talked about how we could work from home and the usual stuff. I also had an email from some company that I never heard of, which said:
"your package of grocieries will arrive at 12".
What? I thought. And then the door rang.
Got up, walked to it, and there stood a man with that company logo on his hat, carrying a gigantic box with him.
"Here's your food sir!".
I took the box and gave him his tip, taking it into the apartment which will be my everything for the unforseeable future. I opened it and in it were loads upon loads of fast food, as well as snacks. Burgers, pizzas, onion rings, fries, potato chips, candy, soda,, you name it, everything was there, except for salad.
"Well, hope this quarantine won't be long, maybe I won't gain too much then".
Opened my laptop amd logged onto work, and ate the burger. It wasn't great but it was ok. mindlessly ate it while working, thinking about how long this quarantine would be.
1 year later
I woke up basically in the middle of the day, have no routines at all since lockdown. Under great labour I heaved my immense body to the edge of the bed, where I sat for a solid minute trying to catch my breath, my belly laying in my lap and going all the way to my knees. My great big moobs, which were probably in the D range if I had a bra, rested on top of the mound that was my belly. After rocking back and forth I sprang up from the bed, and again was exhausted. I took the few steps to find my sweatshorts, the only thing that barely fitted I still owned. After struggling with pulling them up for a minute, I got them on, and it looked like they were painted on. I lumbered into the hallway and saw my reflection in the mirror, well, what I could see of it. A huge gut stuck out and hung low, covering my private parts and rocked back and forth whilst I walked.
"I should probably weighs myself, haven't done it for a while".
Squeezing through the bathroom door, I found my old scale. Pulling it out and stepped on it, it creaked a lot when I did. I can't see the flipping screen! O had to take out my phone and photo under the belly to see it. And what did it say?
"558.4 lbs"
During this year in isolation, I've gained almost 360 lbs of pure lard. I squeezed out and cursed myself for letting this happen. Well, it wasn't too bad, I heard most guys who worked for the same company were in the 6 to 700 range, Becky at HR, who already was fat, was over 800 lbs. Well as you could've guessed, the company went bankrupt soon after the quarantine started, and we were all laid off. This didn't really matter as all the food was coming from the government, and as such we could continue gorging on the most fattening and sugary food we had ever got our hands on. I laid my obese body on it's side of my very tired and wourned out couch, my belly hanging from the front of it down towards the floor, and watched old reruns of 'Seinfeld' and 'Hannah Montana" as there wasn't really anything new to watch, nothing was produced other than those boxes of food we got everyday. Oh well, I thought, maybe everything will soon go back to normal?
Or is this the new normal?
