Chapter 2

Steph awoke the next morning to the smell of something cooking. For a moment, she couldn't place the scent, but as soon as she was properly awake, she recognised the unmistakeable smell of bacon.

"Ugh, Emily's cooking again, great..." she mumbled, rubbing her eyes.

Steph pulled herself out of bed and padded towards the door, her hand reaching for her tummy, which was still a little bloated from the night before. As she stepped into the kitchen, the sight of a massive cooked breakfast greeted her.

"What are you doing?!" she cried, seeing her friend shovelling bacon, sausage, eggs and beans into her mouth.

"STEPH! Did you know I've never had a full English breakfast? Like, I'm English and I've never had one. That's criminal. Well, I'm pleased to announce that that's been fixed and my GOD is it good!"

Steph rubbed her forehead, "Em, did you make this for me too?"

"Of course I did!"

Steph's brow furrowed and her mouth began to open, but she paused and thought for a moment. She didn't actually want to say no. Despite how crazy her friend's behaviour was, the truth was that the smell of bacon was making her mouth water.

"Come on, sit down and eat it!"

Steph took a seat and began to tuck in, feeling a little guilty. They'd just been so stuffed the night before and already she was filling up again. But the breakfast was delicious and her stomach was hungry.

Emily was already finishing her plateful and getting another. She was stuffing it in, chewing quickly and swallowing hard. Steph had a small mouthful of toast and watched as her friend continued. She had a full plate, then two and a half slices of bread, then another slice.

"Slow down girl!"

"Sorry, I'm just soooo hungry. Aren't you?"

"Well, yeah, but you're going crazy, that's all"

"Look at us, we're skinny as hell, we can take it!" laughed Emily, pointing to her flat belly.

Steph couldn't help but grin, "I guess you're right"

Emily nodded, then turned back to her plate. She shovelled the remaining food into her mouth, then leaned back and rubbed her stomach, which was already starting to bulge.

"Wow, that was sooo good"

"Mmmm," moaned Steph, through a mouthful of bacon.

"Right, well, I'm going to get a shower, okay?"

"Ok"

As Emily left the kitchen, Steph was suddenly alone with her thoughts. Was she really about to allow herself to do this again? It was so unhealthy and she had a bad feeling in her gut about it.

"Well, there's no harm in just this once" she told herself, then shovelled another forkful into her mouth.

It wasn't long before Steph was finished and she pushed her plate away, then let out a loud burp. Oops.

"Urrpp... sorry"

Emily's voice floated into the kitchen, "You're forgiven, as long as you clean the dishes"

"Deal"

Steph took a final swig of tea, then stood up and started to clear the plates and load the dishwasher.

"Urp... sorry, just me again"

When the kitchen was clean, Steph took her shower. She couldn't help but look at her bloated, naked body and think of the last couple of days.

"This isn't going to be a thing" she said firmly.

But when she was dressed and the girls were both in the living room, Emily's first words were:

"Right, what are we going to have for lunch then?"
