Kelly's big secret

Chapter 30 - Epilogue

Epilogue

No one was ever able to explain how Kelly’s fantastically strange body was able to suddenly repair its metabolism overnight. It took her about six months, but with a lot of hard work and exercise, she was able to get some of her curves back and dropped down to about 250 pounds. But there she stayed, she never again was her slim 120 pound perfect self. But to her, it didn’t matter. She liked herself exactly the way she was, and so did her friends. Courtney never made fun of Kelly ever again. Elizabeth, with Mary’s urging, went to counseling for her eating disorder and was gradually able to get her life back. She used Kelly as a role model and even put on a little weight herself. Not too much. Just enough to make her feel comfortable in her own skin and keep her from having to bundle up so much in the fall and winter. Mary was always the same, she would never change herself for anyone. She remained Kelly’s best and closest friend, almost like a big sister. She eventually moved in with Kelly and helped her take care of things around the home and do things like go shopping when Kelly didn’t feel so great. Barry eventually moved in as well, and he and Kelly were engaged and married about a year later.

Kelly decided to quit her job in NYC, and moved out with Barry and Mary and Elizabeth far away from the city, to the foothills of the beautiful Adirondacks, where they built a log cabin and purchased 100 acres of untouched farmland. Within five years they had built a barn and started a horse stable, where they all happily lived out the rest of their days. Their first son’s name was Malcom Xavier, and Kelly named her first daughter Katherine Meadows. Eventually Barry’s hair did turn white... and he looked EXACTLY like Morgan Freeman.

They grew substantial crops in their fields and slowly became wealthy. They hired local workers and homeless people to do the dirty work in exchange for shelter, clothing and all the food they could eat. Liz gradually began to weigh as much as Kelly, but she didn’t care anymore. For the first time in her life, she was comfortable in her own skin, as was Kelly. They were both fat and happy, and were at last able to live without shame. Kelly, unnaturally vigorous due to her special body, lived to be well over 100 and lived long enough to see her first great-great grandchild. Her story became a legend within her family. The legend of the incredible Kelly and her biggest and best-kept secret ever. Doctors the world over wrote books about her, the medical marvel, and her memory lived forever.

And Barry? He lived to the ripe old age of eighty-seven. And his hair turned grey, than white. And he looked EXACTLY like Morgan Freeman.

The beginning bits were weird...and made me uncomfortable. Otherwise, a good WG story, not terribly written, and that's definitely somethin'.
