No more regrets

chapter 3

Denny sat back and thought about how to reply, he knew all sorts of people in the hotel industry on Oahu, that's where his parents made all their money. He hadn't tapped his contacts recently in the industry because he wanted to maintain his low profile. But his talks and emails with Lexi have really tempted him to call some of them on her behalf even though it kind of felt like he was cheating other candidates out of consideration. She had sent him her resume in an effort to get his opinion on it since he did mention he used to work in human resources to her in one of their conversations. Her resume was impressive, honours and a near perfect GPA, all her professors wrote glowing recommendations about her and how wonderful she was as a student. Her only problem was having contacts in the industry of her choice. In such an industry it's more about WHO you know rather than WHAT you know. Lexi was a wonderful girl, only three years younger than himself. She had brown hair and really pretty pale blue eyes, she felt much more genuine and real to him than his ex Amanda did. But he still was wary though, she did look enough like his ex to make him remember what it was like with Amanda. The only difference is that Lexi liked fat guys she was a frequent visitor to the BHM pictures forum where Denny had posted pictures of his growing belly, but never his face. His fear was not that he would be an identity thief victim, rather that those who were part of high society would recognize him. He didn't want to be found or tracked down by any of them because it would end up leading to many uncomfortable conversations and gossip about where he had been for the last seven years.

He wanted to help Lexi find her dream job here so she wouldn't have to move back to the mainland, and some small part of him actually hoped he would one day meet her in person. It was no secret that she was attracted to him; he could pick up that much from their conversations online. It was mostly his own fears of discovery that kept him from letting his feelings for her show. Denny was also afraid that she would change if she found out he was rich, she might reject him or even envy him for having money while she struggled to make her own way in an expensive state like Hawaii. He got up to make himself a weight gainer shake while he pondered over what to reply to her with. He was full but not stuffed enough like he preferred to be before he headed to bed.

Hey Sexi Lexi, I've been doing what I always do, eating and grow fatter. It's working great by the way. Sorry to hear about your parents being insensitive about your needs, that sucks. I wish I could waddle in and save you from them but you know me, I'm too lazy. I did get a chance to look over your resume and it's great, any hotel would be crazy not to take you with those records and recommendations. I've also thought a lot about it too, I can talk to some contacts I still know in Oahu about you but I have been out of the loop for a few years now so some of them may not be there anymore. I actually live in Honolulu so if you want I could show you around, I mean if you don't think it's a good idea to meet in person yet that's cool too. I won't be offended or anything if you don't want to. Anyway, I'm hungry again so it's time eat before bed. Hope to hear from you soon.
