The expansive charm of opoloo island

chapter 19

The rite of passage from adolescence to adulthood was now officially over. Heather and Jessica emerged from the hut. All of Opoloo Island was there. Everyone on the island at one time or another had heard the women as they grunted and slurped and scarfed and swallowed an immensity of food. Most had seen them grow, going from "normal" sized women to the behemoths they had both become. But thanks to Leilikaha's ministrations, the two women spent the last three weeks of their confinement in total isolation. Everyone on the island were curious. What would they finally look like?

Jessica emerged first. Well, actually, Jessica's stupendously large belly emerged first. She weighed something in the vicinity of six hundred pounds and since she was so short in stature she essentially looked like once gigantic ball of fat. Her belly was remarkably taut and round, resembling an over-inflated beach ball. It was marked with a wide network of stretch marks, making her belly look like some kind of relief map. For some reason or other, her breasts had widened tremendously and simply flattened out, resting on her behemoth belly like two very large sacks of wet cement. There were two very large rolls of fat running up and down her back, merging with an enormous ass. Her thighs were huge globes of fat leading down to two equally round and jiggly calves.

The reaction of the Opoloo people told the whole story. No one said a word, they were THAT stunned at what they saw. There was no way anyone could have identified the woman who came out of the hut as the SAME woman who went into it, she had changed THAT much. Her face, which had been marked by VERY high cheek bones was now totally round and covered with fat. Her triple chins and meaty jowls only served to make her look like an entirely different person than the one who had come to the island just over six short months ago.

The shock of seeing Jessica only enhanced the surprise of seeing Heather step out into the bright sunshine of an Opoloo summer afternoon. Heather had gone into the hut much larger than Jessica was in the first place, and in the first four months or so, it was Jessica who had fattened up much more rapidly. But something happened in the last six weeks of their confinement. Perhaps it was the visit from Diehl Nutritional Research or Dr. Daniell's stopping by or maybe it was the combination of both, but in the last six weeks Heather ate virtually non-stop. Leilikaha had been reluctant to feed her so much food so constantly, but it was apparent from Heather's facial expression that when she wasn't eating, her hunger sent her in waves of agony.

At any rate, Heather stepped out into the glare of Opoloo Island's intense summer sun. Compared to the Opoloo people, even compared to Jessica, Heather's complexion was almost a milky white. She looked as if she hadn't SEEN the sun in the past thirty years. Unlike Jessica's belly, Heather's stomach rolled out in cascading rolls of fat. Also unlike Jessica, there wasn't a stretch mark or a bit of cellulite to be found on her body. Her belly was softer and squishier than Jessica's as it dropped down low enough to completely cover her pubic area. Her legs looked like two massive blobs of dough that had been mixed with WAY TOO MUCH yeast, they were that large. Both Jessica and Heather had grown a luxurious blanket of dark hair on their legs and under arms, with Heather's growth standing out so much more due to her milk white complexion.

Dr. Daniell had explained to Leilikaha that apparently the protozoa that had infected and affected the women did so in entirely different ways, which explained why they looked so different even though they both went through exactly the same regimen.

Both women trudged through the crowd surrounding them, both with beatific smiles on their faces. It was as if both had come to realize that, to a very real extent, both of them had emerged into their own personal paradise. They instinctively realized that this was WHERE they were supposed to be at this specific time in their lives. What's more the Opoloo people seemed to realize this too as they spontaneously burst out into a round of applause.

There was to be nothing to worry about. Both women were to be welcomed with open arms by the Opoloo people and they would live out their days in peace and tranquility. If Opoloo Island was indeed a magical place, it certainly had worked its magic very well on Heather and Jessica.

In time, Heather emerged as the tribe's healer. She seemed to have a magic touch. She instantly knew just what was wrong with her patients and what she was supposed to do about it. Jessica, who had never been one for the domestic sciences, least of all cooking, found herself working in the kitchen and churning out delicious recipe after delicious recipe, so much so that the already massive Opoloo people got even larger with each passing year.

In time, each woman found a man with whom they would share a marriage bed and each produced two girls, remarkable both for their beauty and intelligence. Truly, in every way, Heather and Jessica's sojourn on Opoloo Island was in every sense of the word, EXPANSIVE!!
