chapter 3: gym bunnies

12/15/24 R&D Final Meeting, UT

"The town is augmented with the most sophisticated ai around. N.E.A. Is a fully conscious, learning ai who on her own asks some dangerous questions like, 'what is life' and 'Is happiness real?'. Don't worry about that though, what you should know is that she is fully capable of changing the entire makeup of the town. As people choose a lifestyle she can create a culture around that. If people like hiking, she can forge trails and synthesize forests. If people like movies she is now processing and almost ready to create an equation for the perfect movies. It's incredible! Absolutely astonishing! This is world changing. The moment we created something that could self learn and had a primary goal to serve man our work had finished. That chess room that erected itself in the unused lab room wasn't us. It was N.E.A."

Ryan stopped for a moment and reeled. "This is astounding but what if people take to evil things? Stealing, hurting and lies?"

"She only builds around what exhibits joy from the most people. The more Joy the better she takes to it. Relax Ryan this is going to be perfect."

1/3/ 25 Scarlett's Home, CA

Scarlett stirred as she woke up. The moment wakefulness reached her she stopped to wonder if she had dreamt it all. After a few seconds, carefully she opened her left eye and saw her new master bedroom. Smiling she tossed the covers off and got out of bed to get up and excited for the day. While she was brushing her teeth a display appeared in her mirror with recent events, weather, her current weight, events for today and a few options for breakfast. She smiled and tapped on waffles and eggs as she finished brushing. The shower was something she hadn't tested out the previous night but found even more bizarre than the mirror.

No nobs. It simply had a single button.

"N.E.A. how do I work the shower?" Scarlett asked as she stripped down to ready herself.

"Our new showers automatically adjust temperature based off your mental activity for a perfect temperature every time." Scarlett cocked an eyebrow but stepped into the corner rainfall shower and simply hit the button. True to what her ai said the water was the perfect temperature. She almost fell asleep as the water fell down her face and rolled over her trim body.

Once she finally dragged her attention away from the shower she stepped out and wrapped herself with the provided white fluffy towel. Stepping out she finished getting ready and stepped downstairs in her workout uniform. A jogging shirt that revealed her abs and running tights. As she took the final step to the first floor her food raised itself from the center island.

"Oh, N.E.A., I can eat after I run. I really should work out."

"If you insist. Should I leave the food out? I cooked you an extra waffle to make sure you have more food than you need this time. You could use the calories for running." Scarlett flipped her blond locks, shifted her weight and bit her lower lip. The food smelled so good and she WAS hungry. Staring at the door she walked a few steps towards the counter.

"You win. I think I'll have this now. I wouldn't want it to get cold. I'll just make up by running to the gym instead of just around the block. As she grabbed the fork that had been stuck in the middle of the waffles she began to feel excited. Food had never given her glee like this. Paradise food just tasted better. Smelled better. Looked better. She couldn't take any more waiting and dug in for her first bite. It was delicious. She moaned in ecstasy as the taste rippled through her body. She licked the syrup off of her face and dug in. Bite after bite it continued until she had eaten all 5 of the waffles. Syrup dripped off her chin. Her eating rampage was enough that she hadn't felt the syrup coat her mouth. The eggs were barely a match for her after the waffles had such short work.

By the end of the meal she felt a similar sensation to what she experienced last night. A will to sit and simply digest her food. Scarlett smiled and went to wash her face. Luckily her jogging outfit was unstained because of how she had been leaning over her plate. After washing her face off she quickly realized her mistake. She felt heavy and lethargic. The idea of running seemed suddenly terrible. Sighing she asked,

"N.E.A. I'm afraid to ask but how many calories was that?"

"1,345"

" Oh my god! I'm going to turn into a blimp at this rate."

"That's highly unlikely, blimps are made of helium and exhibit..."

"Oh shush it was a figure of speech."

Without further words she was out the door and hitting the pavement trying to run to the local gym.

1/3/25 Paradise, Ashley's Home, CA

Ashley was a small asian girl with a flat as all can be chest and a nice small bubble butt. She sported black hair that was normally kept neat and tidy in a pony tail. She always had on glasses and usually formal attire. Her features were kept in tight form by rigorous workouts and constant supervision of what she did and didn't do. Every day balancing what she could and couldn't eat. Working out heavily to try and keep her tush trim and stomach flat.

Or at least it had been that way when she got there 3 weeks ago. Ashley's usual form was not what it had been. After Ryan coaxed her into coming she had to admit he really did make an incredible place. Every promise had been kept but she realized one of the problems a little later than she should have. Her normal healthy habits had devolved into feverous eating and constant snacking. The food here was too good to resist and although they offered healthy options she was too weak willed to take them and it showed.

As she looked in the mirror in only her baby blue bra and panties she could see a startling change that she had noticed occurring over some time. Her chest was no longer an A cup and had blossomed to a B and maybe a little further, it bulged over her bra begging to be let free. Her belly was certainly no longer flat and jiggled and bounced as she stepped back and forth. Although it was only a pot belly it could no longer be hidden in clothing. She lifted and rotated her head, examining a soon to be double chin. Turning to look behind her she saw where most the damage had gone. Her ass was growing at an alarming rate. If nothing else it was an eye catcher for the boys. She smirked as she thought about how Ryan might look at it. Was it so awful? Her hips flared to match her now much thicker bubble butt and thick thighs. She ran her hands along her body before finally looking in the corner of her mirror.

Gasping she fell out of her fantasy. That couldn't be right. She had put on a whopping 34lbs in 3 weeks. It just didn't make sense. Grabbing her phone she went go go get dressed but stopped herself for one last glance at the mirror. She tugged her leggings up and grabbed a large shirt that she had requested.

"N.E.A. Schedule an appointment with Ryan for this afternoon. I'm headed to the gym."

"Yes mam" She picked up her breakfast plates that she had taken to her bed and left them downstairs. She picked up a donut and headed to the garage where N.E.A. had readied her car for the gym. She got inside and munched on it while she thought about what could have caused such a dramatic weight gain. As the car sped around she looked at her phone and a record of everything she had eaten and burned off. According to her phone she should be up maybe 5 or even 10 lbs but this was ridiculous. She hefted her belly a little and laid back on the mattress in the car as she stared at the ceiling. It didn't feel terrible but she was worried a bit about her health. Not to mention how others would see it. It was only a few days ago that people actually started entering the town. Her and Ryan had had the whole place for themselves up to this point. Maybe she went a little too wild. As she considered this she stepped out of the car and started walking towards the gym glancing at her phone.

1/3/25 Paradise Gym, CA

Scarlett took a sip of her water and packed her gym bag while stepping for the door. She looked behind her at the mostly empty gym and headed out. Suddenly she slammed into something and fell down. Sitting up she could see a slightly pudgy asian girl who she had bumped into. The woman stood up and started helping scarlett to her feet as she tried to apologize.

"I'm so sorry, I don't think I was looking at where I was going. Are you okay?"

"I'm just fine, I don't think I was looking either." Giving a friendly smile Scarlett brushed the dirt off her backside and picked up her bag. The woman paused and pointed at her.

"Wait a moment. You just moved in yesterday, across the street. You live next to Andrew don't you?"

"Oh, yes Which house are you?"

"I'm immediately across from you. My name is Ashley."

"Scarlett." They shook hands and exchanged little laughs at the situation.

"Well I'll have to stop by and say hello later. For now I think it's my turn to try and work some of this off." Ashley poked herself in the belly and made for the door. "Don't be a stranger though, it was nice meeting you."

"It was nice meeting you too." Ashley called as she started up a jogging pace towards home. The people here all seemed so happy. Maybe a utopia wasn't as out of reach as she had always thought.
