New Identity

Chapter 1

Henry ushered Tammy through the front door of the safe house. The safe house was a cabin in the woods with nothing around for miles. There was no internet, just a landline phone and cable TV. No one would be finding Tammy here.

Tammy had done a brave thing, she had saved several people from being trafficked. But now those bad people wanted to find Tammy and enact revenge.

Henry was a man in his late 30s in the business of hiding people who didn’t want to be found. He got them new identities and sent them off to their new lives. Tammy was his latest client. He was a handsome man, fit and had a desk job with an insurance company. Boring and no one would look twice at him.

Tammy was gorgeous. She had long blonde hair, pretty blue eyes, and she looked like she belonged on the cover of sports illustrated or in play boy. She was young and beautiful. Unfortunately, her looks drew far too much attention.

“You’ll stay here for a while until things die down,” said Henry, bringing grocery bags of food and setting them on the counter.

“I’ll be back to check on you occasionally, but we shouldn’t be in contact more than necessary. I’ll bring you food every week. You must not leave this cabin,” he warned.

Tammy nodded. “What am I supposed to do while I’m here?”

Henry shrugged. “Think of it as a vacation. Eat, sleep, watch some TV.” Henry eyed her slim frame. “Maybe put on a few pounds.”

Tammy flushed, looking down at her fit body. “Why?”

Henry raised an eyebrow. “They’re looking for a woman that looks like a model. If you gain a bit of weight it’ll help disguise you.”

Tammy wasn’t happy with the idea. She had worked hard for her body, she didn’t want to let herself go. But she wanted to stay alive more.

“I’ll do it,” she said.

Henry nodded. “Good. I can’t stay, I’ve been here too long as it is. Next week I’ll bring some stuff to help change your look.”

Henry turned to leave, then turned back. “One more thing, here’s my number. Use it for emergencies only, and don’t give any information away.”

Tammy gave Henry a thin lipped smile. “Got it, I’ll remember that.”

Henry left, leaving Tammy alone with food and an empty house. Tammy eyed the food on the counter. “Well, I better get started.”
