Chapter 1 - Welcome to Honolulu!

Adam arrived at his hotel room in Hawaii on a warm Friday evening. Finally, he had an entire week to get away from his agonizing accounting job. Tax season was brutal this year, and Adam definitely piled on some pounds from the constant stress eating. But Adam didn't care anymore. It was time for him to set down his bags, lay in the fluffy hotel bed, and fall asleep watching the sun set along the Northern Pacific Ocean's horizon.

The following morning, Adam went downstairs to enjoy the Hotel's morning breakfast. He grabbed a tray, snatched everything they offered, and headed to a seat. Eating a delicious breakfast in Hawaii was a dream come true for Adam. As he ate, he thought about all the things he could do during this vacation. Scooba diving might be fun! Or maybe checking out the local gift shops! There were so many options!

As Adam went to throw away his paper tray, A hotel worker named Alana stopped Adam before he could throw his tray into the recycle bin.

"Thank you for recycling, mister..." she paused. Adam picked up on the social cue to finish her sentence, albeit slowly. "Oh, Adam! My name's Adam! haha, sorry, my bad! I mean- No problem! haha.." Adam's awkwardness radiated throughout the room. "No worries Adam! I'm a worker here. I'll make sure to take extra care of your room while you're gone!" She winked before walking away. Adam has been a victim of gold diggers in the past. He figured this was just another lady trying to take advantage of his lack of confidence. He brushed it off, exited the hotel, and made his way around the city.

Adam's day was wonderful! He toured the city, went snorkeling, dined at various restaurants, and even got to visit the Honolulu zoo! But by the end of the day, Adam was exhausted. He returned back to his room, had a quick snack, showered, then went to sleep.

Before he managed to fall asleep, Adam thought back to his encounter with Alana. Should he be concerned? Could she be different than the other ladies? Oh no, was Adam getting feelings for Alana? No, he couldn't! He barely knew her! But she was so sweet and pretty! Adam proceeded to toss and turn for an hour before finally succumbing to his exhaustion.
