The magic of herbs

chapter 1

Zoe was your average high school senior, 18 years old not popular but not unpopular either. She had a group of friends she hung out with, a group of mostly larger girls, who would hang out, smoke pot, drink, and eat junk food. Zoe herself was naturally skinny though. She grew up fit, didn’t have many sweets as a kid, and eventually got involved in sports. She didn’t try hard to stay skinny, it just was lucky for her. Leanne and her sister Priscilla were large girls, Leanne close to 250 pounds and her sister around 185. Sarah was skinny like Zoe though, thinner in fact at 105, where Zoe was 120. Sarah had platinum blonde hair and icy blue eyes, where Zoe’s were closer to grey and her hair was a dark blonde. Leanne and her sister both had brown eyes and dark raven hair. Another friend that hung out was Heather, brown hair, blue eyes, and closing in on 200 pounds. The girls never cared about their weight; they would sometimes tease Zoe because she ate a lot yet stayed so skinny. Sarah never thought she was skinny enough and was always on a diet, but Leanne didn’t care and ate whatever.
The day was like any other, with the girls sitting around smoking a bowl, talking about what food to order. They like to order from Itsa Pizza Place because they have a deal for $5 medium pizzas if you order at least three, so each girl gets her own pizza. Zoe ordered two like she usually does, one for now and one for later, when Leanne asks,

“Zoe, do you ever wonder what it be like to be a fat girl?”
“Sometimes, I mean with how I eat you would think I’d be chunky, but I burn it off fast”
Priscilla asks, “Were you always thin? I know Sarah was a chubby kid.”
“Not really, I never spent money at the ice cream trucks, never had much sugar growing up, and then I was sporty, still am too” Zoe responded
Sarah said, “Yea, once I joined track I lost the weight, I need to watch what I eat don’t wanna get fat…”
Zoe looked down, “What’s it like being big? I have no issue with my weight, just always been skinny”
Leanne smiled, “Well… If you really want to know, you know I’m wiccan. I have a sort of spell, it mixes with this herbal mixture you smoke, we alter your past to let you know what it’s like”
Zoe, looking confused, “And that really works?”
“Of course, magic is real, we’ve never done it before, but seen it done. It will alter reality, only the people in the room when the spell is done will retain their original memories.”
Zoe thought for a minute then asked, “Is this permanent? I mean it sounds fun, but like, I dunno if I want to keep it forever…”
Leanne said, “Its not permanent in the sense that we just redo the spell and switch the changes, but it won’t revert back on its own”
“Ok, let’s do it then!” Zoe said.
