Chapter 1
An entire day of lectures was enough to put any university student out for the rest of the week, let alone when all of them revolve around science.Maisy’s brain felt fried to the crisp as she struggled to get her key through the lock. She wanted nothing more than to curl up on the sofa and think about her life choices right now.
Unfortunately for her, she had much bigger problems on her hands than lectures. For one of Maisy’s modules she had to create a ‘Sustainable Food’. Without getting into the nitty gritty, she basically had to make a singular piece of food satisfy hunger for a longer period of time in order to combat snacking habits.
She had chosen a muffin for her project with the idea that if one food were to last for a whole day’s worth of hunger, at least have it be enjoyable.
Maisy had left her experimental muffin in their shelf with a very clear cut ‘DO NOT EAT’ note on it. That is...It /used/ to be there. Now there was a single empty place sat in the middle shelf, with nothing but the note remaining.
The culprit wasn’t exactly going to be difficult to find, as Maisy only had one roommate living with her...
“ROBIIIIIIIIIN!”
Robin, unsurprisingly, rushed out of her bedroom door. She had crumbs decorating her face which she seemed to have missed in the process of being a sneaky little thief.
“...Yes?” Robin tried to play off, wearing a nervous smile.
Maisy meanwhile was in a state both of anger and panic. She was furious that Robin ATE her project, though worried about the effects it could cause. It was still very much in development and untested.
She was having none of Robin’s tomfoolery though, her arms tightly crossed over her chest, “Did you eat my muffin.”
“Pffft, muffin? What mu—”
“You have crumbs on your face, Robin.”
She quickly swiped at her now pink cheeks, brushing off the crumbs in question. “Okay, okay. Maybe I did! But I was going to replace it, I promise!”
Now that she had confessed, Maisy wasted no time in trying to examine her. She forced Robin’s mouth open to see if she had any signs of reaction, all while Robin was trying to fight against her.
“Ah—Ah—Hey!” She finally managed to break free, “What the hell are you doing?”
Maisy sighed in frustration, “It wasn’t /just/ a muffin, stupid! I’ve been experimenting on it! Why do you think I stuck ‘DO NOT EAT’ to it!?”
Robin rubbed her jaw after her ruthless examination, her brows furrowing into a frown.
“I...I dunno! I thought you were just being selfish!”
“Well, do you feel okay? Anything feel off or...Weird?”
Robin shook her head and Maisy let out an exhale she wasn’t even aware she’d been holding. The bad news was that it meant her experimentation was completely null and void, but the good news was that Robin was seemingly alright.
-
Even through her headphones, the sound of Robin rustling around in their kitchenette was extremely loud. They had an unspoken rule about being quiet when the other person was studying yet apparently that didn’t apply today. Maisy threw off her headphones in a huff and swung her bedroom door open.
“Robin, for fuck’s sake it’s almost like you just want to piss me off—Ohhh my god.”
Maisy’s eyes widened as they met the scene laid out before her; Robin was sat on the floor raiding every single one of their cupboards, eating anything and everything she could find. Some of her findings even included raw pasta shells.
That wasn’t even the most surprising part either, as Robin’s gut looked horrifically swollen. It sat in between her thighs like a large watermelon stuffed underneath her clothes and was fit to burst.
Maisy scrambled towards her roommate, trying to rip the packet of cookies and the bag of pasta currently in her hands yet she was met with an inhumane force against her.
“What—I—” She could hardly believe what she was seeing. Robin was a fairly petite girl and Maisy would admit to being a little envious of that, yet now her stomach looked simply enormous.
Robin poured a couple of cookies into her mouth mixed with some of the raw pasta, though it didn’t seem as though it was by choice.
If she ate any more she may as well be rigged to explode at this point and Maisy quite frankly, was freaking out.
“Uh—I—Okay, I need to call my professor, no, the campus nurse? Uhm—I need to call /someone/.”
Maisy’s voice was shaky as she dashed back into her room for her phone. There was no doubt in her mind that this was the cause of her muffin and it had gone horribly, horribly wrong.
She skimmed through the contacts she had saved on her phone, yet nobody seemed appropriate. “I don’t know what to do, I don’t know...!” Maisy cried out, but it seemed as though Robin’s body did.
When she looked up, Robin’s belly didn’t seem as swollen as it had been just moments ago. It looked rather soft to the touch and filled out her small figure. New fat was also visible around her face and arms too yet...It appeared to be growing.
Robin was swelling up.
The more food that was uncontrollably pushed into her mouth only added more and more pounds onto her frame. With a ‘snap!’, the belt around her waist finally broke and fell in two pieces at either side of her. The jeans didn’t take much more convincing either as the button fastener was forced open by a new wave of fat pouring out into the gap it had now created.
Robin groaned as she tried to get to her feet but she was like a baby deer trying to walk on ice. She was no doubtedly off balanced with this new found weight yet it didn’t stop her from reaching up into the higher cupboards in search for more.
Maisy wasn’t sure what to make of any of this, making a swift move to support Robin in case she fell, finding it odd that her fingers were sinking into a soft love handles instead of bony hips.
“I think you’d be better sitting down, a-actually...” It was a struggle to rip Robin away from the cupboards, letting her take a family share packet of crisps with her to the journey to their small sofa.
Robin’s t-shirt now bunched up at her ribs and was threatening to tear while her jeans practically looked painted on. Maisy couldn’t help but stare at her until realising that bag wasn’t going to last much longer.
It was a continuous effort to haul food back and forth from the kitchenette to Robin that it may as well be a workout for Maisy. Yet she wasn’t exactly the one in need of exercise.
Robin was unrecognisable by the time the cupboards were completely ransacked. She took up the entirety of their small sofa and Maisy swore it had bowed in the centre. Rolls upon rolls of fat decorated her body as she sported a thick double chin large enough to cover her neck, large flabby bingo wings jiggled on her arms and she had a nice set of cankles to boot.
Her clothes were barely in tact with scraps of remaining cloth being here and there stuck between fat, though she was mostly exposed in all of her glory. Maisy had done her best with her own jacket yet she probably needed a tent more than anything else.
Maisy collapsed onto the other sofa, unable to look Robin in the eye. Aside from a few belches and stomach gurgles, the dorm was deathly silent.
“...Well, u-uh—If you /really/ think about it, it’s kiiinda your fault.” Maisy let out a nervous laugh, yet Robin was far from amused.
“You better ‘accidentally’ make a weight loss muffin next time.”
