Chapter 1: Destiny's Desired Destiny

Destiny was at home when she was relaxing, wondering if she was going to be accepted to the new college, Point South Eastern University. It is one of the best Universities in her state for Animation and game design, which is what she wants to do. The University has partnerships with Illumination, Dream Works, EA, and Epic Games. Unfortunately, it's 5 hours away from where she lives, so she would have to get a dorm with someone.

Destiny was watching TV in the living room at the front of the house, when she saw the mail truck go by. She got out into the scorching hot summer's day. She walked down to the community mail box, 3 houses. She used a key to unlock her mailbox, grabbed the mail and went back inside as fast in a brisk walk. It was so hot, and the humidity didn't help anything.

She got inside and felt a wave of cool air from the AC hit her as she walked inside. "Finally." Destiny said to herself.
"Did you get the mail yet, Destiny?" Asked a man's voice from inside the house.
"Yeah, I did, Dad!" She hollered back to him.
Destiny started to walk towards him, flipping through the mail, taking out what was her's, and then handing it to the man watching TV in his bedroom. "Here you go, dad."
"Thanks." Said her dad as he started to look through it himself, grabbing what was his, and ripping apart the scam or junk mail.

Destiny got the three letters that had her name on them, and started to look through each one while she filled up a cup of water with ice. She saw her phone bill, and even though she already paid it a week ago. She saw her bank information, showing she has over $45,000 in her savings for college, and $5,500 in her checking from work and chores. Then, she saw the letter she was hoping for, the familiar green letters with the gold outline, "PSEU". She eagerly opened up the letter and started to skim through it. She had a big grin as she thought she got in! Destiny skimmed through again, but then frowned when she reread her name, they got her last name wrong.

Destiny walked to her dad. "Hey Dad, I am confused."
He paused the show so he could give his daughter his full attention. "What's up sweetie?"
She shows him the letter. "It says I am approved, but that's not my last name."
He looks at it. "Destiny Fairfield... Yeah, we are Farfeilds." he rereads the letter. "Everything else seems alright. I would recommend calling them, and seeing if there was a typo, and if you really are accepted."
She took the paper, and started to give them a call.

"Hello, welcome to Point South Eastern University, this is Karen Munts speaking on behalf of administration, how may I help you?' asked the lady as she answered the phone. Chewing could be heard on the other side.
"Hello, this is Destiny Farfeilds, and I have a concern." Destiny said as opened the paper again to identify the issue.
"I'm sure I can help with any concerns you may have. What is the issue, Destiny?" Karen asked her, and she sipped on a soda.
"Well, I just got a letter from you guys, and it says I got accepted, however my name is wrong, just my name. Everything else is correct, my street address, my phone number, all correct." Destiny explained with a little confusion in her voice.
"Yeah, I will be able to ease your concerns. May I have you confirm who you are by giving your full name, date of birth, and the last four of your social security?" Karen asked, and a crunch could be heard over the phone as if she were eating chips.
"Yeah, my name is Destiny, Delta echo, siara tango, indigo, nancy, yanky, Farfeilds, Frank, alpha, romio, frank, echo, indigo, lima, delta, siara." She said spelling it the military way, like her father taught her. "My date of birth is August 10th, 1998, and the last four of my social security is 6789." She tells her.
She pushed a few buttons. "Uh, yeah, everything here is correct on our end. It must be a typo on the letter. Congratulations Destiny Farfeilds, you are in!" Karen said with some excitement in her voice.
"Thanks so much, have a great day." She said calmly before hanging up the phone.

Destiny ran into see her dad, she was ecstatic, jumping up and down as she told her father the news. "I got in! I got in! It was a typo!" She was grinning from ear to ear.
He gave her a proud smile. "Looks like you better start packing, because your a college girl now!" He was excited for her. "Should we order some pizza from Esposito's to celebrate?"
"Hell yeah!" She was still grinning, super excited she got into her dream college after many failed attempts.

Two and a half weeks later, Destiny had just flown into the airport, the city called Beach Front City, the location for Point South Eastern, and she had an Uber arranged to get to the university. She noticed the town had a lot of places to get food, mostly mom-and-pop, lots of fast food, and quite a few grocery stores. She was then at the Campus, where she was met by a golf cart driver. "Hop in!" They took her across campus and brought her to one of the girl's dorm buildings, it was huge. While in the golf cart, Destiny noticed many of the students were either chubby, overweight, or fat, but didn't let that bother her, she thought that was normal for college anyways.

Once inside the dorm building, Destiny would walk down the widened halls to get to her dorm. The doors were also oversized, and she was now getting curious. "Maybe it was to fit the furniture easier." She said to herself out loud. Destiny opened the door, and walked inside, and saw her roommate.

"Hello there." She said not looking at Destiny, she was focused on her game.

The girl was on the chubbier side, had brown hair, brown eyes, glasses, and pale skin. Her shirt was a white button-up and had some black stretchy pants. Her belly was forcing the buttons to separate a little. She had some chips, pretzels, and a pizza box next to her while she gamed.

Destiny went to her room to get her things unpacked. After, she went restroom. She saw the only mirror in the dorm was a small face mirror. She saw her pale skin, her blue eyes, and long black hair. She smiled as she was happy to be here at her dream college.

She then came back into the room where she saw the overweight girl. "Hello there, I never got your name." Destiny said politely.

"Oh ***!" She shouted and slammed the controller down onto the couch as she lost. "Sorry, about that." She said looking at Destiny. "Name's Samantha Thompson, but you can call me Sam. I've been here for a year." She tells Destiny.
"Nice to meet you Sam, I am Destiny Farfeilds." She held out her hand to shake it.

Sam shook her hand with a smile. "Good to meet you Destiny." She would then pick her controller backup, and eat some more pizza. "What brings you here?" She asked with a mouth full of pizza. She cleared the seat next to her for Destiny to sit in, placing the food on the coffee table in front of her.
"Oh, game design. I plan to draw art for video game charecters." She told Sam as she attempts to take a chip, but her hand was smacked by Sam's.
"Those are mine." She told her quickly. "Anyway, that's awesome, I'm here for Cyber Security. I'm going to be in the military for the civilian side." She tells her.
"That's cool." Destiny smiled. "What game are you playing?"
"Digital Warfare 2, it's my favorite game." Sam said as she started a new game.
"How does it work?"
"Simple really, you just gotta shoot some people, hack some systems, and you are teaming up with other players, attacking the monsters in the game. It's a Sifi adventure." She says as she starts spamming buttons, making her character proform magic, but it didn't seem to do anything. "Come on, come on!" She dies again. "God fucking, damn it!" She slammed her controller down again. "That's 5 losses in a row!"
Destiny picked up the controller. "Can I give it a go?"
"Sure, whatever. Go for it." She said and got some more pizza, taking her frustration out on it.

Destiny would repeat the same movements as Sam, but she let gave the animation time to respond to the character, the spell was cast, and it delt a lot of damage.

"How the fuck did you do that?" Sam asked amazed.
"You keep spamming the right trigger like a gun, it's a spell, you have to hold down the trigger." Destiny explained, and offered it back to Sam.
Sam took it, and tried out Destiny's technique, seeing good results. "Well, I'll be damned... Thanks." She smiled and went back to her game.

After an hour, Destiny was hungry. "Hey, where can I get food around here?" She asked Sam.
Sam just finished a game, and she started to shutdown her gaming console. "Well, there are lots of places to choose from. We can either eat outside of the campus at one of the mom and pop shops, a fast food joint, or even get some food at the campus cafeteria." She explained, then got up. As she stretched, one of the buttons came undone on her shirt.
Destiny pretended to not notice. "Oh, well, do you have any suggestions?"
Same thought about it. "Since I don't feel like going far, how about we get some food at the cafeteria, just so you know how the food is here." She tells Destiny and rebuttons her shirt.
Destiny nodded. "That sounds good, lead the way."

Sam would get her purse, and get a hoodie before walking towards the door with Destiny. The hoodie was tight, and shows Sam's fuller figure, almost threatening to ride up her belly. It was a pink hoodie with white splotches, it has the logo of the University on it.

"Where did you get that hoodie from?" Destiny asked her.
"I got it my freshman year, cost me $50 because I wanted it dyed pink. I think the bleach stains make it look cooler. It actually became a trend with the campus store." She said as she pushed the button to the elevator. They were on the third floor of five.

They went down the elevator, into the lobby, and out into the main campus. She stood at a green box, and waited. Destiny was confused, until she saw a chubby man driving a golf cart. "Need a ride?" He asked them. They would get on, Sam told the man to take them to the cafeteria.

As soon as they got close, they stopped near a long green line, where many other golf carts would drop off students of varying sizes; skinny, chubby, fat, and obese. They were all going into the cafeteria. Destiny would look around at everything there was to offer. She noticed the cafeteria was divided up into sections, there was the Italian section, the American section, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and so many more sections. What surprised Destiny the most was the fact it was buffet style.

Sam would look at her. "Well go on then, grab whatcha want." She encouraged Destiny.
Destiny, overwhelmed by so many options, would go get in line.
Destiny was from a small town, and this University had more food options than the entire town she grew up in.
She took a tray, got inline, with Sam behind her. She would select a few items, and they filled up her tray fast. "Wow, this is a lot of food." She commented.
Sam laughed. "A lot? That's just your first tray!" Sam said as she would grab her own food. Afterward, they would sit down at one of the many tables.
Destiny would pick up a slice of pizza, it was just a normal pepperoni pizza. But as soon as she took a bite, she fell in love with the flavors. "Wow... This is the best slice of pepperoni I have ever had."
"Glad you like it, welcome to the club kid." Sam said as she began to gore on the food she got herself.

Destiny smiled as she ate more of the food here, it was far more enjoyable than she thought it would be, since most of the cafeteria food she had in herlife was awful. She knew she would fit in at this University in no time.
