Who is she?

chapter 1-meeting liz

Chapter 1
Jackson sighed, chucking his phone to the passenger seat. It bounced off the seat, and clattered heavily on the car floor. Strike three, he grumbled to himself. He just finished checking one of the few dating apps he had on his phone, and still, no messages. It had been three weeks since he had downloaded the apps, in hopes of finding a girl that would just stand out to him, and three weeks of little to no activity. He would get the occasional message, and though he was genuine and kind in his replies and compliments, none of them seemed very eager to message him, and inevitably they would stop messaging in a few days.
He tended to wonder what girls thought of him? Was he awkward? Was he funny? Jackson thought he was, for sure, but didn’t know exactly what they thought about him. He was told that he was cute by people, but that was just by the few girls he dated in the past, and although he knew he wasn’t unattractive, he was by no means a model. He was short, for a guy, about 5’6”, which he knew was a deal breaker for many girls. He shaved his head a few years ago, to beat the impending baldness his family was cursed with. However, he grew a killer beard, so that worked in his favor, or did it? He was known as a funny guy amongst his friends, always having a story to tell that would leave his listeners holding their sides in laughter. But still, no connections. He wasn’t sure he knew what girls liked anymore.

Jackson admired bigger girls, ones who’s bubbly personality reached to the surface, punctuated by a voracious appetite for life and food. As for body positivity, he was all for it, but it seemed that every big girl that met his “criteria” online was capitalizing on that trend, and wanted people to pay to see them online. Was it empowering to them? Jackson thought it must, because plus-size body positivity was trending online, and people were setting up their fan sites, making lots of money. He also didn’t have money to spend online, as much as he’d like to; his dream was to spoil and pamper a girl in person. If only he could get his bakery started up, then he could possibly find the girl and provide for him.

Bzzzt-bzzzzzt!! It was his friend, Mark, sending him a text message. Jackson leaned over to grab his phone from the floor and fished around for it, twice having it slip from his fingers. Damn armrest, he fumed, as the narrow seat combined with the built in console effectively created a wall between him and the empty passenger seat.

Finally retrieving the device, he unlocked it and opened the messaging app to see what his friend was saying to him:

[Mark]: Yoooooo, there’s a party that’s gonna be happening over at Chris’ place. Make sure to bring over the green, man. It’s gonna be lit!

Jackson quickly typed his response; he wasn’t really feeling going anywhere, which was unusual, considering that he was usually an extrovert.

[Jax]: I dunno, man, I’m not feeling like I have that much energy tonight. Work was a bitch.
It was partially true; his day was long at the supermarket. Customers were just annoying, and his boss didn’t like him, and made it clear every day. In short, his day was just like any other.

Bzzzt-bzzzzzt!! [Mark]: C’mon, bro, it’s gonna be a blast! There’s gonna be wings, beer, pizza, and girls, dude. It just needs green! You’re the missing link! You can’t tell me that you already smoked through it all? I thought you had the connect?

Mark was relentless, Jackson noted. He had known Mark since freshman year in high school, which was, shit, like 13 years ago! He knew of Jax’s penchant for the bigger ladies, and though Mark was into athletic girls, he held no judgment towards his buddy. Jax did have “the connect,” as his buddy put it. His uncle owned a farm where he grew the stuff, and he received more than enough to smoke himself blind, and have enough left over to get an elephant couch-locked. Jax sighed and typed his message to his friend.

[Jax]: You’re not wrong, haha. I guess I can make time in my busy schedule for a party.

[Mark]: Busy, my ass, bro. We know you just toke and play video games and dream about fat girls lmao. Don’t worry, I’m just messing with you! It’s at 6. You better be there, dude. I’m counting on you!

Jackson shut his phone screen off. His ribs hurt; the entire time he was messaging Mark, he had remained in the position he was in when he grabbed his phone-- slouched over the console’s armrest. He started to arch his back and stretch, his arms spread wide, and his face twisted in a mix of relief and pain.

Just outside, a shiny, brand-new pink Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled into the spot directly next to him, on his passenger’s side, exceedingly close to his car. Jax was startled when his car moved as the pink Jeep’s door bumped into his Sorento. Jax wasn’t too angry, his car already was a piece of junk, with dents and dings from the previous owner. He was more concerned about what the driver was going to be like when they got out of the car. I hate confrontation, he muttered.

The door of the Jeep slammed shut, and the vehicle roared to life. After a hasty readjustment, the SUV turned off and the door opened again, allowing the door to open again with plenty of room to spare. Two very long, and curvy, legs swung out, the wedges on her feet plopping on the ground. As the driver finished getting out of her car, Jax had the chance to get a better look at the person behind all the commotion.

He immediately noticed two things about her. The first thing was that she was tall, easily six feet, and that was not counting the wedges she was wearing. Those easily added another 3 inches to her height.

The next thing he noticed was her legs and hips. As he noted before, they were very long in proportion to the rest of her height. However, her legs were unique in another way, and not just in length: they looked like a dancer’s; except they were incredibly thick, a layer of adipose tapering all the way from her ankles to her noticeably rounded hips. As his eyes flicked up towards the girl’s hips, he didn’t have to try too hard to imagine what she looked like from the back. He decided to call this one Legs.

“I’m so sorry!” Legs said, snapping Jax out of his hopefully unnoticed reverie.

He blinked and faltered for a brief second. This girl was beautiful! She must be like in her twenties, with deep green eyes, and startlingly blonde hair. It was practically yellow, with bouncy ringlets, reaching the middle of her back.

“H-hey, it’s no problem,” Jax said, trying not to let his eyes fall to Leg’s noticeable chest. She just was a chubby girl who seemed to be in a hurry. He sniffed. Was that...yes, there was no mistaking it: She had recently been smoking some of the green stuff. Maybe I can turn this to my favor, he mused, briefly forgetting his dismal mood from a few minutes ago.

Jax affected his usual smile, a lopsided grin that went all the way to his eyes. “Don’t worry about my car, it’s yours I’m worried about!” He quickly got out of his vehicle, going around the back, pausing only to allow a car to drive by. Reaching the passenger side, he quickly noticed that he was right in telling her to not worry, as there was no exchange of paint.

He was pleasantly surprised when he got closer, she was even prettier, her green eyes containing flecks of hazel, her smile was amazing, and she had a cute button nose in between. “Are you sure?” Legs said, concern written all over her face. “It’s just that I am in a hurry, and I have just been scatterbrained today. I hate parking lots, I’m so sorry! I just--”

“No need! I promise, you’re good, sweetie,” Jax reassured her gently. “I hate driving in parking lots too, I get it,” he laughed warmly. “I’m Jackson!” He proffered his hand to her, cocking his head to the side.

Legs took his hand and giggled, her laugh just as bubbly as the rest of her. “I’m Lizzie,” she beamed. She suddenly shot up like a bolt. “Ohmygoodness! I have to get ready for my party tonight! I’m cooking, and if I don’t hurry, there won’t be time for me to prepare! Are you sure things are okay? I can pay for any damages, if you need!”

Jax chuckled, “No, I appreciate the offer, but that wouldn’t be necessary. Haha!” He paused, realizing that he really wanted to get to know her more. He started thinking about how he could keep this momentum going. He cocked an eyebrow, “Any chance of me helping you shop would make things go more quickly?”

Liz perked up at this. She hadn't expected this offer. Here was this cute, bearded guy who seemed to be a gentleman on top of it all. Not a bad mix, she thought. “Sure! Why not?”

As they entered the store, Jax got a chance to see Liz from the back. She was even more curvy than he first noticed, with her butt shifting her leggings side to side, each step sending a ripple and wobble in the large cheeks. She was thick, chubby even, with a small bit of pudge peeking out of the top of her leggings. All her weight seemed to distribute evenly, to make her a bottom-heavy hourglass. Jax was mesmerized. He normally liked his girls much bigger than that, but damn, she had everything going for her! It seemed like she had designer brand shoes, and clothes, along with her purse, which was a Louis Vuitton, and not some cheap knock off. Jax sped up, coming alongside the voluptuous lady.

“So, what are we looking at getting?” Jackson inquired. He fully expected there to be burgers and hotdogs, or maybe ingredients for a bean dip, so he was somewhat surprised when Liz told him that they were going to get wings, pizza, and beer. It couldn’t be the same party, could it? He brushed it aside as merely coincide.

When they got to the wings, Liz started to calculate, mostly to herself, how much she should get. “Wellllll, I can eat 40 wings no problem, but there will be others, and I have to assume they will probably eat more than me. I should get 150!”

Upon hearing her say that, Jax blinked. Did she just say that she could easily eat 40 wings? He breathed in sharply, slightly biting his bottom lip. Wow! She must have no idea that 40 wings is an awful lot for the average person to eat!

“Awwww, well, it looks like I can’t get the 150 wings, since they only do even batches. I'll have to get 160! No complaints on my end, hehe!” Liz giggled, doing a little shimmy happy-dance. “More for me, I guess! On to the pizza!” she exclaimed, pointing over to the frozen food section.

“Pizza, pizza, pizza, how many should we get? There’s going to be 5 of us at the party,” she glanced over to Jax, looking for his input. She wasn’t going to let on that she could eat an entire pizza by herself, along with wings, it just wasn’t proper, she thought.

“I suppose you should get 5 different kinds, so everyone has a chance to try a different flavor.” Jax offered, knowing full well that not too many people eat more than three slices of pizza, let alone five. However, based on her reaction toward buying all those wings, it seemed that she liked to eat, and had a big appetite as well. He wanted to see if she really did like food as much as he thought.

Five pizzas? She thought. No one eats more than three slices, let alone five! She would be able to have her extra pizza after the party after all! “That sounds smart! I’ll get five! Now all we need to get is the beer!”

Again, Jax found it weird that they were shopping for the same food and drinks as his party, but didn’t let it bug him too much. Anyone could have a party with those foods; it wasn’t uncommon. They ended up grabbing a couple of 30 packs of beer and called it good. Liz made a beeline to the self checkout. After scanning the huge amount of food and drinks, she pulled out a black card from her purse and swiped it. “Only $500? Not bad!” she giggled. “Let's get this loaded up in the Jeep, kay?” Jax nodded, and they soone headed out the door.

As soon as they reached the Jeep, Jax helped load the groceries into the back of her SUV. Liz protested the entire time, but Jax wouldn’t let her load it, much to Liz’s chagrin. “Thank you so much! Now I’m going to have enough time to make the food and make it to the party! I hope to see you again!” She waved, and got into her Jeep. She pulled out the SUV, and drove off. Just like that, she was gone.

Jackson whistled. “Who are you?” he whispered to himself.
