Mine goes up when I gain but I have never worked out what particular food (other than salt/sodium) causes it. I do find that exercise helps keep it down, even if I don't lose weight.

any tips for beginners gainers?
Nuts are good too. I can get through 300g of peanuts in a couple of hours while working. That's 1800 calories. Also drink plenty of whole milk. 2 litres (1/2 gallon) of milk is about 1300 calories.
