Chapter 5 - interlude part two

February 28 - Eliza's POV

"If none of the others wanted to spend quality time at the beach, then so be it. I'd soak the sun's rays by my lonesome. I spread open my matt on the grainy sand, put on my sunglasses, untied my hair, and fell back-first. I lay down completely helpless to the sun. I believed that I would have a relaxing day... But I did not expect to come to a realization that day...

???: "Mind if I join ya?"

I looked up, and to my surprise, a beautiful woman stood above me. Her bright bikini matched the color of the sun, her sunglasses matched mine. She seemed like a very nice looking girl!

Me: "Of course. Please, please sit."

???: "Oh, thank you!" She said politely. "My name is Toko. Pleased to meet you."

Me:"Likewise. My name's Eliza."

Toko: "What a beautiful name! Is it short for Elizabeth?"
Me: "No, no. I'm just Eliza."

The two of us bathed in the heat for quite some time, chatting nonchalantly: She spoke of her life living on the island, while I spoke of the encounters I've had with my roommates.

Toko: "You should totally check out the restaurant just on the outskirts of this beach," she said. "It's just to die for!"

Me:"Ah, thanks for the recommendation... but, no thanks. I feel like all my friends have been doing here is eating food! Especially my friend Kayden! Girl let me tell you, he's gained at least thirty-forty pounds these past two months. Actually, when I focused on the weight he gained, I realized that it really suited him! He looked so cute with all that extra weight."

Toko: "Oooh-wee! Maybe he can compete with my Elijah!"

Me: "E-Elijah?"

Toko:"Ooh, sorry!" she began. "Elijah is my husband, and well, he just loves to eat! Especially at that restaurant I was telling you about! He used to be so built before I met him, but I made my way into his life, and well, he fell in love with my cooking and spent more time eatin' and workin' out! It started off with just eating seconds, and sometimes even more than that, during the dinner and then it moved onto buffet nights with those buddies of his. He's been a real cleaner when it comes to eating!"

Me: "Heh, sounds exactly like Kayden! Well according to my friends, that is. How much does Elijah weigh, if you don't mind me asking."

Toko: "Not at all. He weighs 400 pounds."

Me:"400!?"

Toko: "Yes, well, erm- that was a few weeks ago... Who knows how much he's eaten since then."

Me:"G-God damn! Well, it looks like there is someone with a bigger appetite than both Kayden and Taylor here."

Toko:"Taylor?"
< br>Me:"Oh, sorry. He's my boyfriend."

Toko:"May I see what he looks like?"

Me:"Oh, uh, sure." I stretched my arm toward my bag, unzipped the top pocket, and grabbed my phone. I searched through my camera roll to find a nice picture to show her.

Toko:"Oh, my, he looks stunning... And my, my, my he must work out a bunch to earn that type of physique."

Me:"Yea,he works out a lot, trying to maintain all his abs and muscles for me. He may work out a lot, but damn can he eat! Sometimes, I tell him don't care about muscles, but he never listens. He's adamant on the fact that he's doing this for me."

Toko: "Oh, he works out only for you?"

Me:"Yea, ... though I tell him that I really don't care how he looks like now. He's too dumb to understand I like him for him, not his looks."

Toko: "I can tell you're not a huge fan of the whole muscular scene."

Me:"I'm not."

Toko: "Same here. That's why I let my husband turn into a pile of lard!" She started laughing maniacally so much to the point, where I got creeped out. "Maybe that's what you're looking for in your boyfriend!"

Me:"Heh.. I-I'm gonna go now."

Toko:"Thanks for hanging with me."

Me:"N-No p-problem."

Toko:"Oh, and also. If you ever do go over to that restaurant, tell em' Toko sent ya. You'll be treated right if you do."

Me:"I'll be sure to do that. Thanks."

On my way back to the hotel room, I couldn't help but keep thinking about the conversation Toko and I had. Did I want Taylor to drop his exercising shtick and resort to slacking of and eating like a slob. Did I want him to become similar to Fry and, more worrying, Kayden? Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long, all cause of a certain discovery.
