chapter 4

It had been 8 weeks since my first appointment and this morning I was at the clinic for my follow-up appointment.

"Sasha, room 5" said the same receptionist as last time.

I walked in the room and doctor Henley was already waiting for me and I sat down on the chair.

"Hi Sasha, how are you doing?" asked doctor Henley smiling.

"I've been doing good. I've been a bit moody but other than that no problem." I answered politely.

"Great, we'll do an ultrasound and we'll find out if you are pregnant or not today" said the doctor as he turned on the machine.

I pushed my shirt up and he applied gel on my belly. Not even a minute later the doctor smiled.

"Great, I can see that you're pregnant. And even better: it's twins" announced Henley.

"TWINS? woah I'm shocked" I said loudly

"Yes for your first ever pregnancy, you're up to a great start. Now i'll weigh you and you'll be good to go" said the doctor removing the gel from my belly with a tissue.

I then stood on the scale which read 246 pounds. I was a bit surprised but the doctor just took some notes and sent me on my way.

I walked home and thought that my weight gain explained why my clothes were tighter than usual. I'd have to order some pregnancy clothes now. Thankfully the clinic had given me a nice starting bonus that would easily cover those.

I went home and continued my diet with the pregnancy supplements. I had grown to love the taste and would often add a bit more or add it to my snacks. Thankfully, every week the clinic sent a new box so I had more than enough. My favorite was mixing it with ice cream to make a milkshake. As I was pregnant I figured it was a pregnancy craving.

The next few weeks were pretty much the same. It was honestly the best job ever. I was paid to stay at home and do nothing. I pretty much stayed in my pyjamas all day on the couch watching TV. In the afternoon I would go for a walk around the neighbourhood. I also made good money now and I pretty much only ordered from restaurants for lunch and dinner. Life was great and stress free.
