chapter 10

Cadence woke up the next morning and checked her phone. There was a message from Marco:

"Hey. I had fun last night. I ate SO MUCH though! Omg."

"lol yeah you did... I had fun too" she replied.

Cadence had the day off again, but didn't really feel like sitting around the house. She thought about seeing if Marco wanted to hang out again but she didn't want to come across as overeager. She decided that she'd take a shopping trip across town. She took a shower and dried her long, silky hair. She picked out a dark red sweater that would layer well under her black winter jacket. After putting on a bit of makeup, she checked her phone. No new messages. She hoped a day at the mall would take her mind off Marco for a little while.

It kind of did, for a while. But being in a crowded mall, it was impossible to avoid the occasional fat guy. They'd amble by, ignorant to her interest in their round, plush middles. Each time they reminded her of him, so he kept seeping into her thoughts again as she browsed through boots and dresses. She kept checking her phone; there were no new texts from him. She was about to just turn it off when it rang. It was him.

"Hey, what's up?" She answered.

"Not much, kind of bored. What are you doing? You home?"

"No, I'm down at the mall."

"Oh."

"Wh y?"

He chortled. "This is going to sound strange but I've got a massive craving for some cookies or something. I was wondering if you had anything for me."

"You mean you didn't have enough last night?"

He laughed. "Well, yeah, but."

A tingle ran through her body. "Umm sorry I'm not home, or else I'd help you out!"

"Please? I neeeeed something."

She giggled, looking around the clothing store to see if anyone was nearby and possibly listening. "You don't have anything there at your house? Last time I was over it was pretty well-stocked up with goodies."

"Well, I don't think so. I'll get up and look I guess. I've been feeling pretty lazy all day."

She chuckled. She listed to his heavy breathing as he moved his large body over to the kitchen to look in his cupboards. He rummaged around.

"Are you sure you can't just come over and bring me something?" he sounded playful.

"I'm all the way across town. Just go to the store."

He groaned. "That takes so much work."

"You'd rather just sit there and have me wait on you?"

"Pretty much. I am thoroughly lazy."

"Yeah I know."

"Here's something. A can of cream cheese frosting."

"What? Why do you have that? Let me make you the good stuff, not that phony factory stuff."

"Oh yeah, I know yours is way better. But this will have to do. Unless you want to come over and make me the real stuff."

"Not a chance," she flirted. "I'm busy today. It's not my job to feed you."

"Ahhh. Ok then. This lame frosting will have to satisfy me. Talk to you later."

"Bye."

She was very flushed once she got off the phone. He had turned into a real glutton. He really couldn't stand to not have me around to bring him his fattening foods! she thought. Was he going to finish the entire can of frosting in one sitting? It was driving her crazy. She didn't want him to know just how much this interested her, however; not yet. But she knew she needed to take this relationship, friendship, whatever, to the next level soon...

She wanted to text him, but held off for a while. He texted her first.

"This is SOOOOoooo good" it read.

"Glad you like it. Guess You won't be needing to try any of mine."

"Actually, I'd love to compare the two."

"Hmm maybe. Idk what's in it for me though."

"I'm your taste tester, duh."

"Idk if you're a very good one though. You've scarfed down all the treats I've ever given to you prettyyyy quickly... I really can't get any constructive criticism from someone like that. ;)"

"Someone like what??"

"Oh, I don't really want to say it, sorry. Might hurt your feelings"

She waited a few minutes before he sent a pig emoji with a few question marks.

":) hate to break it to you, but yeah you're kind of an oinker."

"If I'm such a pig, why am I feeling full after just a few spoonfulls of this frosting??"

At this point, she was practically racing out to the parking lot. He'd convinced her. She needed to be there to fill him up.

"Take a break. You'll be wanting more soon." She wrote.

She sped across town and stopped at her bakery, which was closed, but she grabbed a box full of pastries, loaded them up, and drove on towards their apartment building.

She checked her phone as she got out of the car with the box.

She had several text messages from him.

"Idk. I'm not THAT much a porker."
"Jk.. Hungry again..."
"You there???"

She quickly ducked into her apartment and spritzed on some of her most sensual perfume and applied some blood red lipstick. She then went across the hall, knocked, and waited.

"Oh!" He answered, flustered. He saw the box of pastries and grabbed them. "Finally."

"Umm hi and you're welcome," Cadence greeted him in playful anticipation. He had entered into full fatty mode and she was there and ready to enable him.
