I have not masturbated at work. I have, late at night, had a little, um, activity in my office, but not alone, so that's another matter.
I have masturbated while stuck in traffic, much to the amusement of some truck driver I didn't notice until too late. I have -- long, loooong ago -- had sex in an airplane bathroom, and given someone a blow job on a motorway. So it isn't the publicness that weirds me out. It would take time, as Sexydisaster said, and the toilets are uncomfortable and unappealing. And even when I was younger, I never couldn't wait for someplace more appealing.

Actually, Ruby, I think people frequently post things that are disrespectful to fat people. There's definitely a lot less of that than there used to be, and I wouldn't *quite* characterise it as harshly as Ffancy did.
But you know there are lots of people who believe that people are fat only because we eat like pigs--that's one that comes up a lot, for example. Or it would be easy to lose if we wanted to. Or we don't care about our health. I definitely feel like there are undercurrents of fat--not sure of the word--phobia? hatred? oppression?--here and there on the site. Nothing I would remove as a moderator, but definitely things that need discussion.

And me.
And for the record, EVERY SINGLE lgbt person I know objects to the phrase 'That's so gay!' And so do I.

What, why? This would be awesome for guys on this site who have trouble with their weight, you know, seeing as most of the "bbw"s only want skinny/muscular guys.
You know, there's thread after thread of people like Kia and me announcing our desire for fat guys. But somehow, there's always someone saying that no fat women want fat guys, or even that no women at all want fat guys.
I've come across very few FAs in my life, and managed relationships with precisely none. An affair here or there, sure, but no relationships.
Relax. And remember, whining isn't pretty, even if I indulged a mere sentence ago.

I kinda like the sound of 'Crappy Cappies'

OK, so I do a lot of various activities on the left, where we find people inevitably talking about Fat Cats, and it pisses me off.
First of all, fat people are disproportionately working class for all kinds of reasons--the high cost of many healthier foods, the lack of time to go to the gym, etc etc.
Secondly, I hate 'fat' being used negatively all the time, like that. It's bad enough people despise the real stuff, but to then go around flinging it metaphorically at bad things--Grrrrrr.
I don't imagine others have this same reaction, but are there other things that push your buttons because they're wrong about fat people somehow? and also, does anyone have an idea for a phrase to replace 'fat cat'?

Very clever, hon. But still, let's try not to snark, shall we?

Well, welcome to this new forum.
As many of you know, this came about partly through requests on other threads, some of which have been moved here. Please feel free to revive and/or continue those discussions...
I'm a strong advocate of fat liberation, and I have published a little bit in that area as an academic. It's something I feel very strongly about for a lot of reasons, but rather than bang on about it here, I'm sure you'll get to see some of my thoughts as the discussions develop here.
In addition to the threads that are already here, we could talk about:
movement tactics and strategies;
disseminating information about all sorts of things, like how to find fat friendly doctors;
'coming out of the fridge' as fat lovers or as people with interests in feeding;
terminology;
discrimination;
or any of an infinite variety of topics.
Please come join us here to think and talk and play--this is a topic we all need to care about if we want more hopeful futures!

It doesn't get any better until you - *gently* - call them on that stuff. When someone says you need exercise, say 'I've been cleaning the stables all morning. You mean I need more than that?'
Or when the teacher talks to you like your stupid, say 'Does my body tell you something about the quality of my mind?'
Smile, say it softly and sweetly. But say it. It makes the whole thing feel totally differently.

I think two things.
A) There are treatments for gallstones, including surgery and sonar disruption (or whatever it's called), I think.

She needs to get therapy NOW. Eating disorders are very serious psychological conditions, and they should not be treated lightly. She needs therapy. If she is ever going to have a livable relationship with her body, she needs help getting there.
