Sincere apologies for mass emails

Please accept my sincere apologies for the mass emailing that some of you received last evening.

This was due to a runaway mailing list script that got stuck in a loop, which sent out the same email multiple times to the same members. It was a couple of hours by the time it came to my attention, by which time many emails had already been sent out.

A few suggestions for the site

Thanks for your feedback, some interesting points for us to consider. What do you think would be a reasonable character limit for chapters?

Yo, can you stop making 90% of the stories premium content?

fatchance:
No critique here, it just indicates that this website is moving from a hobby approach to running like a business to turn a profit.

FF has been a business since 2008.

I suppose that means I should pull my stories off since I don't want a paid membership and should not give away what others charge for, but oh well.

Many of our most talented authurs are not bothered about getting paid and upload stories for free just because they love writing and want to give something to the community.

Sounds like it’s your job to filter them then, not to make excuses. And don’t act like you don’t get a cut from the deal.

Many of the premium story writers also upload free stories as samples of their work. If we filtered out the premium stories and put them in a seperate section then member's would be less tempted to upgrade, thereby reducing their earnings. This would affect the number of premium and free stories being produced.

In the same way that Facebook and other social networks insert ads into your news feed, these should perhaps be seen as a necessary 'evil' since they help keep the site alive.

Of course FF takes a cut which helps us maintain the website and develop new features. Obviously we can't do this without a budget.

Feedback required - validating accounts

We've considered two types of validation so far that might be useful but would love to hear your feedback. These are:

* Verify that users are who they claim to be, to reduce fake profiles. This would work in the same way as it does on many sites, where the members publishes a pic of themselves holding a sign saying 'fantasy feeder'

* Perhaps more controversially - verify that users aren't trying to sell something or asking for money. So long as there's nothing to suggest otherwise in their profile or posts, we'll verify the profile, however if we see or hear otherwise, we'll remove the verification.

Verified members would have a badge shown on their profile and could be searched for. Whilst there's nothing wrong with trying to earn money online, the idea is to try to improve friendships/dating/conversation by highlighting those people genuinely interested in the fetish.
