Maybe attend a local event (look under events in the forum) or organise one if there isnt something happening near you. Its a great way to meet people

And you also have to give this place time. Even as a female it was about 2 years before I felt confident to really start chatting to people.

Speaking personally I chat to people who have made an effort to get to know me, have maybe sent a message showing that they have actually read my profile. ...

... most of the people here are friendly and will chat to people who have earnt the respect by being respectful to others.

Just because we may be fat doesnt mean we dont have preferences. I choose not to respond to people in the shoutbox if I feel they are attention seeking...
